Whats up,

Hey I'm sure you all remember the t-shirt idea that I started awhile back. Well I decided that if I'm going to start selling shirts I want to donate all of the proceeds to somplace that deals with the Appalachian Trail. The problem is I don't know which organization would be the best. Could someone give me some info? The only one I can think of is ATC. Please Help

Why don't you sell shirts that say;

you'll make a sh!t load of money.

Just out of curiousity?
How much of the AT have you hiked?

Me about 50 miles through the Smokies. That is actually why I'm so interested in raising money is because I lack both time and resources necessary for a through hike. I feel like if I contribute something to the trail I can at least know I make it possible for people with the opportunity to hike the trail.

I actually did from Clingman's Dome to Davenport last year in three days then I have been out to Russel Field from Clingman's Dome the other way.

ImaHiker: Clingman's Dome to Davenport? Awesome.. That's a haul in three days!.. Where did you stay each night?

Russell Field from Clingman's Dome? I am a little confused tho? Didn't you post in an earlier thread that you had only seen Rocky Top, and never been over Thunderhead? and that you were coming up from Cades Cove to get there? Russell Field from Clingman's Dome is coming the opposite direction.

ImaHiker: "The nearly thirty mile walk is labeled Hike #22 in my “Exploring the Appalachian Trail” book. It is listed as a “strenuous hike requiring approximately sixteen to eighteen hours to complete."

That is from Newfound Gap to Inadu Knob, with the short walk down to cosby Campground. You didn't start from Newfound Gap, you started from Climgmans, which is another 8-10 miles further, and you went past Inadu Knob to Davenport which is another 8-10 miles further.. (but I can't include that mileage, cos I get to subtract the walk down to cosby Campground.) Bottom line is that you did nearly 40 mile sin three days.. forty miles that includes several good climbs and challenges.. not nearly the challenges that Smokies-West offers, but Smokies-East is a decent walk in the park.. and to do it in three days, is fairly admirable. I know folks who do the 70 miles from Fontana to Davenport in 8-9 days and are EXCITED.. :).. Sounds like you could do the whole thing in SEVEN days at your rate! (And I thought Scott was fast!.. Scott is Sherpa)

So like I said, where did you stay each night? Did you do shelters? Or campsites?

Sorry TownDawg I was actually working!

Anyway I did hike up to RockyTop from Cades Cove and stayed at spece field. Next day went to Russell field and then out.

On another trip I went from Clingman's Dome down Forney Creek Trail (I think) and then up (forgot the trail) to the AT where we check out Siler's Bald and stayed at Double Springs Gap. So there is a small section in there I haven't done but I still have done around 50 miles.

Sorry it took so long
