Pavlov's Trout
by Paul Quinnet

He's a WA state psychologist that tackles his science from a fisherpersons perspective. Funny and informative.

The library here has two large tables spilling over with used books ranging from 25 cents to a buck apiece. I suspect I'll leave with a couple more additions to my growing library.

A collection of short stories and excerpts from books by Southern Authors. I have been very impressed with the work of some I had not read before.

I just finished "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. I highly recommend it. It's about Lincoln, and especially his genius for putting together a politically diverse cabinet and making it work.
Now I'm onto "Grant" by James McPheely. I guess I'm in a bit of a rut, but it's good reading.

AND....If you haven't read "The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Eegan, you had better get a copy. A great book.

I'm still working on Crusade in Europe by Eisenhower. I've really enjoyed it. I didn't realize that Ireland was neutral during WWII but that Northern Ireland was an Allie (that spelling looks weird).

That would be interesting gojo. Eisenhower has talked a good bit about his debates and disagreements in planning with Churchill. He said that Churchill realized that Eisenhower generally liked him and would use that against him. He would debate whatever issue they disagreed on practically until whatever engagement started then would change tune and fully support whatever decision was made and was completely on board. That's pretty impressive. Egos tend to get in the way and all too frequently in life the diagreer is also a pain during the actual implementation of an project.

I'm reading a book called "America Jane's
Pearls of Wisdom, A Handbook for Constructive Living"
It has instructions that are great lessons for young and old alike on being successful by applying tried and true attributes and character traits. Really good stuff.
A Lt. Colonel who was a commander in Viet Nam, who is a member of my congregation let me borrow his. He is trying to get me four copies for myself to give to my son and gf, and a couple other folks. I may even design a youth study format from it for the kids in the church.

Right now I'm reading The Miraculous World of Your Unborn Baby. It's very cool, I've learned about a million things I never knew before. Oh and they said there was this experiment where 26 pregnant ladies who hadn't been told the sex of their baby were hypnotized, and 25 of them correctly said which sex they were having!

I just finished "Watership Down" by Richard Adams. I am stunned that I have let such a great work go unread for so long. I thought it was just a children's story. My how wrong can one man be. I was reviewing a Denver Book Club site that has been reading and rating SF books since 1994 (or earlier). While most of the books had a range of ratings from 0-10, thus showing that the group was varied in their interests, Watership Down had 9's and 10's from every group member.

Like them, I highly recommend reading this book if you haven't done so already.

I`ve read the book three times now, well worth the read. There are not to many authors of that caliber around anymore.

Just finished Munity on the Bounty, another great read and a classic.

Next project is some light reading,it`s abook called "The Priest" it`s about the future building of the Temple on the temple Mount in Jerusalem, quite interesting.
