Ack! Almost 4 lbs for a 20 degree bag ??? I think its probably got a real heavy cloth lining and probably is as big as bean bag when rolled or stuffed up.

I don't think I'd buy a sleeping bag from a website that doesn't even mention whether the fill is down or synthetic!

If you are in the market for a sleeping bag on sale trying using www.google.com as a search engine.

Type in sleeping bags on sale....or on clearance....or deals...
You should get some deals that way...

Should I buy a 30 degree bag, or use a fleece bag in the spring/summer?

both... i have a 30* bag and a fleece bag. 30* bag is very useful in spring/fall.

What bag do you have now?

An entirely too heavy, bulky, non-compressive Coleman bag. I have absolutly no idea how I ever got it in my backpack, I cannot compress it enough to fit it in the slot on my pack.

It sounds like a good deal on the SD bag, didn't know if it was a decent bag.

Hey Guys!

SG - Looks good. I like it. I like the Polarguard fill, the price and the weight is nice.

This is the one I'm looking at getting to replace my 5.5 lb monster. Let me know what ya think.

A 35*F bag will limit your season to summer only.the 'stretchy system' used in these bags is not for those who can't live with the confinement. Also, that 'stretchy system' adds bulk to an allready bulky synth.bag.

SG, Treebait and I have the men and women's versions of that bag. It's a good bag, we've been happy with ours.

i just realized the color will match your tent and your rain coat! you'll be very color-coordinated on the trail.

I agree w/ laqtis - great weight and price.

I don't agree w/ uncliff - I use my 30* bag throughout spring and fall as well as summer.

My winter bag is a SD bag w/ the "stretch" and I love it. I had no trouble getting comfy in it.

The bag you're looking at has the "pad locks' which my winter bag has. It is a good thing for people like me who are constantly moving around at night. Keeps the sleeping pad in place.

I say go for it. But, you may end up needing another bag at some point for colder weather. This bag wouldn't have been quite enough at Waterloo-Pickney when it was in the 20s. I was a little bit chilly in my 30* bag.

Yep, I plan on getting a warmer bag as well, but not until this fall, if even then. I just wanted something for the spring/summer/fall. I'll have to buy a -10 bag for nights like we had in March - I was still cold in that bag I borrowed!

Year, or just get an inner bag or over bag for the colder season. You can always extend a bag's rating by getting a liner or an overbag.

Smiley: For the price, that's a great bag - especially considering that its got a DWR lining.

Laqtis: Campmor gave me a "we ain't selling this item anymore" message when I tried your link.

looks like a good deal,, only thing I wouldn't like is the smaller interior,, too tight a fit causes compression while you're in it, not good. only other complaint is the DWR coating,, wrong kind can hold vapor in instead of breathing it out.

you might want to check out the woods line of bags, I have a 32 degree liteloft northern lite model which weighs in at 2 lbs 6 oz. which works well for my size. The bag seems terrifingly thin at first but keeps me cozy down to 40 so far which is plenty for 3 season low altitude usage. they make a mummy version as well thats a half pound lighter called the ??city-lite?? but i get too cramped in those.
