THis is my science to buying gear. All the stoves compete to earn the most points. The stove that gets the most points is the best stove. I altered the point sysem to one that fits my needs but if price is an isue then you may want to detuct points for any stove over 100$ or what not.

What About Kiss Alcohol Burners
Canistered-fuel stoves don't rate very high in your book, eh?

Do because they tip over easy, the fuel costs more, and they don't work well in cold weather or in high winds. (Snow peaks gigapowers are the exceptions to that)

MSR Pocket Rocket doesn't rate in your book either ? It was a tough choice to make between the Snow Peak and the Rocket.

Granted if you buy one gallon of white gas ...you have enough fuel to last all year unless your some kind of super trekker.

Alcohol is probably the next in line for cheapest fuel. It's not that expensive.

Most of my trips are weekenders ...
$3.95 to cook my meals for the weekend is acceptable in my book.

Don't mind me I'm just on a "New Gear High" The Optimus Nova is a great stove...go for it Tea!
