any one know if there will still be snow that time of year?”

“There's plenty of snow in the Southern Sierras. It was snowing this week at Mammoth Mountain. Check my website (on my profile)and click on Mammoth Mountain. It has weekly updates, and usually has shots the peaks surrounding Mammoth. The base of Mammoth Mtn is ~8000', and the top is 11,000'”

“so how about march 25-29 will there be any less snow then?”

“Last year we waited til Memorial Weekend to do our first Sierra backpack. The road to the trailhead was closed til then. Some of the lower trailheads might be open. I'm not familiar with your area. There's a lot of snow out there, and probably will be for a few months. If you don't want snow, Death Valley, Anza Borrego or Joshua Tree are probably good right now.

March will still have snow at 8,000'.”

“You can probably go to the west Sierras. I'm not familiar with that side either. Obi or Windwalker can help with that.
