SCRA - Hobbs Cabin
Just returned from a weekend trip to Hobbs Cabin (South Cumberland Recreation Area) via the North Rim and North Plateau trails. Great trip with many overlooks and plentiful water sources. Some stream crossings were interesting thanks to recent rains. Enjoyed sunshine on Saturday, a very cold night and light snow on Sunday afternoon. Perfect.

Thought I recalled that some folks from this board were headed that way next weekend and wanted to offer my "two thumbs up" rating on the trail.

The overlooks along the North Rim are awesome.

Yeah man. Some of us are going this weekend. Was there much fire wood around Hobbs Cabin?

Yes. We found plenty of deadfall in the campsite areas. The cabin was full last weekend. Solitude was not the order of the day as some 19 hikers were registered for the cabin area.

Lotsa fun anyway. Have a blast.

We'll be at the cabin on Friday so it should be easy to get a bunk.
Thanks for the firewood report.
