Some crazy stuff “Last weekend a teacher at my wife's school was killed by her husband. He shot her in the face with a 9 mm...We were sorta of friends with them and saw them socially on several occasions. It's weird you read about crap like this everyday, but when it happens to some one you know it's very strange..it kinda draws energy from you.. Turns out she had been cheating on him..they had split and gotten back together..The person that cheated with her was a teacher also at my wives school..He called that night and hung up..somehow it triggered the husband to murder her.. I guess the moral to the story is that there are consequences to actions...sometimes it doesn't seem that way, but something like this brings it close to home... It truly is a sad story, but if it keeps one couple from traveling down the same road then maybe something good might come of it....” 1:30:42 AM 2/06/02 “D@mn, that's some really bad stuff going on around you. I don't know what to say except sorry.” 2:23:24 AM 2/06/02 “Here's a link to the story..I still can't believe she's dead..it's so final..no second chances..thats it.. http://bakersfield.com/top/story/758593p-809766c.html” 2:33:01 AM 2/06/02 “I try to think of what to say to that and I just can`t think of anything, sorry is the only thing that comes to mind. I`m sorry!” 2:43:05 AM 2/06/02 “Geez, he gave 3 reasons how the gun went off...that doesn't sound too credible. He's going to be someone's beetch.” 2:44:53 AM 2/06/02 “Sorry to hear that.” 4:45:11 AM 2/06/02 “That is such a horrible thing to have happened to someone you know. I'm so sorry. I don't think there's anything else I can say.” 5:40:08 AM 2/06/02 “I am sorry the husband was driven to this level of rage by his cheating slut of a wife.” 6:43:01 AM 2/06/02 David Gilmour - Murder “Some of them standing, some were waiting in the line As if there was something that they thought they might find Taking some strength from the feelings that always were shared And in the background, the eyes that just stared What was it brought you out here in the dark? Was it your only way of making your mark Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said? On your own admission you raised up the knife And you brought it down ending another man's life When it was done you just threw down the blade While the red blood spread wider like the anger you made I don't want this anger that's burning in me It's something from which it's so hard to be free But none of the tears that we cry in sorrow or rage Can make any difference, or turn back the page” 8:29:48 AM 2/06/02 “I hope there are no children involved. They are the ones that usually end up getting hurt the most in these situations.” 9:04:42 AM 2/06/02 “Thats one reason enough to stay away from married women. I just ask a friend to move out because he was doing just that. I told him to live his lie elsewhere. I don't what anypart of his wrong doing. Its a shame but I don't consider him a friend anymore.” 9:48:13 AM 2/06/02 “My sympathies to you, that is a horrible situation. But not sure I follow you, wsdavies, regarding "consequences." I hope you are not suggesting that getting shot in the face is a consequence of having an affair. She was guilty, apparently, of ruining the marriage. He is guilty of murder. She is the victim of murder. To suggest that getting shot in the face is a consequence of having an affair, sounds like blaming the victim. There is no excuse for what he did. Explanations, maybe; understanding, sympathy, maybe. But no excuse. Calling it a consequence of her infidelity seems like it gives him an excuse. Have I mis-read your post?” 10:09:21 AM 2/06/02 “To some people/cultures murder is not always a crime. Vendettas, revenge, etc” 11:46:46 AM 2/06/02 consequences... “Well, regardless of whether or not it is a proper consequence, in this case, for her, it appears to be a consequence of her adultery. But reading the news article, I wonder if it was less a consequence of the adultery, or more a consequence of being married to a jealous, homicidal maniac. Did she deserve what happened to her? In no way. Could she have prevented it? Maybe, maybe not. According to the article, she apparently had plenty of warning signals that her husband was likely to go off. That she took little to no action against this possibility. Again, I'm not saying she deserved it. She didn't. But she might have taken more action to protect herself. wsdavies, my condolences and sympathies on your loss. I know where you are coming from. A few years ago, a close friend of mine and his wife were killed by their own son. It is truly a mind-boggling experience.” 11:58:48 AM 2/06/02 “In no way do I condone his actions and think what he did is unforgivable...What I was trying to say is that most of us grow up hearing from our parents or whoever..don't do this, don't do that..and logically we all know yea these things are wrong, yet when you never see the end result or how terribly wrong things can go as a result of personal choices..that's when it sinks in..that the choices I/we make really do matter and are quite powerful. I just think of the Saying " Oh what tangled webs we weave" I guess it's just human nature for people to complicate their own lives, but when it results in someones death it becomes glaring. Thankfully, they had no children.” 12:13:20 PM 2/06/02 “It's a bummer when things like that happen close to us. I'm in a bit of a funny mood and feel like sharing. My rugby club is starting a senior women's team (I'm the coach) and some of my senior students are helping me with the organisation. I gave them all the 'phone numbers of girls that have played for my and they're contacting them. This morning, I found the list from 1991 and brought it to school. When I looked it over wiht my captain, I realised that two girls were dead, one in a car accident and one by her boyfriend. This is a rural area and we all know each other. We have a telephone chain for teachers and it has been used for funerals of our kids. You never get used to it.” 12:37:29 PM 2/06/02 Statistics “Back in high school, we had a math teacher that really knew how to quiet the teens down. On the first day of class he would say that one of us (about 35 students) will probably be dead in 6 months from a car accident...another 2 will die from a crime during the year...etc. In ten years, most likely 5 of us won't be alive. You can hear a pin drop. Don't know if those stats are true though...but he sure got our attention. Lol” 10:42:53 PM 2/06/02 “I got a call Saturday morning from my mother saying the next door neighbor's house was engulfed in flames and that the daughter was said to still be in the house. It is now a crime scene with homocide and arson investigations. My heart goes out to the family and friends as Saturday the 14th turned out to unfortunately be a very tragic day here in small town USA.” 8:15:04 PM 1/15/06 “A girl I knew from high school was murdered early Halloween morning - shot by her boyfriend. Her family discovered her body after her work called her dad when she didn't show up that morning. There are sick sick people out there... http://www.dailypress.net/stories/articles.asp?articleID=14676” 1:03:29 PM 11/01/07 “thats terrible” 1:05:26 PM 11/01/07 “Any word on the trials of the Christian/Newsom murderers? Any Knoxville area people know? The news media has exactly been burning up the type on this. last edited: 11/15/07 6:04:32 PM” 6:04:12 PM 11/15/07 “Most recent info is they are trying to get a new venue for the dude that knew/saw what was happening and did nothing either way to help or harm..”” 1:16:59 PM 11/16/07 “Stove they won't burn it up...its not PC for this to happen.” 1:30:21 PM 11/16/07 “Trials are scheduled between May and August of 2008 according to wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Channon_Christian_and_Christopher_Newsom” 1:56:27 PM 11/16/07
