Just thought....

Anyone who wants to do a overnighter, can follow us in, the spot were going to is perfect for a short stay, with max skiing, snowshoeing and snow boarding time....plus great views.

Damn, Steve. That sounds choice but I gotta help the upstairs neighbors move out in exchange for the past 6 mos of DSL for free otherwise I'd come!

I wanted to ask you about Lassen ascents and skidowns. I'm reconsidering the Shasta snowboard descent in favor of Lassen. Is a winter summit technical? How about the descent? I know there is an old ski run there, eh?

Thanks, dood!

Manzanita Lake in Lassen Park?

Do you expect a message board with people from all over the country to know where this is?

Don't sweat it Tarpie. You're 2500 miles aways. It's in N. CA.

Oh yea...the little icon also designates this as a west coast trip...

Rosey...

Lassen has some fine run's, some folks go off the Devastated Area side, during the Spring..you climb up the North Ridge, then traverse to just below the summit. Depending on conditions, sometimes you can just follow up everyone's tracks, other times you may need crampon's and ice ax.....another popular run is right off the side where the main trail is during the Summer...folks meet there when they get the road open through the park (some times when they open to Bumpass Hell), that run usually requires ax and crampon's....The old ski area is near the South entrance, only went up the ridge a few hundred yards, and is a long way from Lassen Peak. A winter summit usually is technical, and would require a long ski in and out....drop me a e-mail and I'll send you a couple maps with the routes marked...I'm leaving for a 10 day this Monday, so if I disappear for awhile, that's why.
