“Since schools were out this weekend (forgot) the slopes were crowded. Four of us hiked Dragon's Back, (the ridge leading to some double diamond runs at Mammoth Mtn), but we missed a turn to go to "Hole in the Wall" (a tunnel that goes thru a huge rock that is out of the park boundary). We ended up riding back to the lifts. Next time!

Also got to demo snowboards this weekend. We're both getting top of the line boards 8 cm longer and will "try" to get a deal on 2.”

“I'm driving out to Anza Borrego to backpack. I'm avoiding the Prez Day crowd on the slopes. My new Kelty Flight is only 26 lbs WITH food & water. That's the lightest I've gone without sharing the load with SnowDude.

“Hey whats going on TT'ers?Well I have all my gear packed and I am ready to go.My club is going backpacking Hoosier National Forest.There are about 10 people going.This is going to be a great trip.Oh ya the weather is going to be GREAT!So what is everyone else doing this weekend?”

“Too late to head up and go sno boarding today....will go ski orienteering tomorrow on a thin layer of packed snow...need more snow!!!”

“Conditions Saturday sucked! Strong winds closed most of the lifts on Saturday. I stuck it out for 4.5 hrs. Towards the end only one lift was running, so I got a lot of cruiser runs in without having to dodge people. One of our friends broke his leg (below the knee) in 2 places, and tore 4 ligaments in his ankle. His skis crossed on a mogul run, and he ate it.

Today was perfect weather, but everyone and their brother was out. Snow was good, no wind, new boards were awesome! Rode for 7 hrs 50 min today.”

“It sure would be nice if we got a day off for the president's birthday, like they do for the Queen of England. Of course, then we would have a lot of people voting for a candidate born on July 3 or December 26, just for the long weekends.”

I will see if I can get a topo for the trail after all its 146 miles long I think I can get a section that we want to backpack.
