Boy Falls 80 Feet Into Ravine At Brandywine Falls
SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio -- A Summit county teen is in critical condition Thursday after plummeting 80-feet at Brandywine Falls.

Friends say that 13-year old Brian Norsic slipped and fell after getting too close to the river's edge.

Mike Cagey saw Norsic fall and after calling 911, he sprung into action.

"When I saw him, adrenaline kicked in," Cagey says.

Cagey crossed the falls, climbed down to Norsic and pulled him from the water.

Norsic is in critical condition at Akron Children's Hospital.

More than 60 emergency workers helped to extricate the boy out of the ravine.

Rescue crews say that this is the first such accident in over 10 years at the falls.

I learned this in basketball: if you are down to catch the ball, you can't just stand up and start dribbling. You have to dribble while you are getting up (hard when five other players have their knees against you and are trying to steal the ball from your hands) or somehow successfully pass the ball to a teammate. I'm learning so much about basketball watching my daughter's games. My husband is going to get earplugs because I'm constantly asking "why did the ref blow the whistle?" "why did the ref give the other team the ball?" etc.
