Nashville
Depends on what you're looking for:
Entertainment
Atmosphere
Best Seafood.....you want to eat where Jimmy Buffet wrote Cheeseburger in Paradise..
As a 13 year resident of the area I can send you a few recommendations

Baume, not much of a variety in New Johnsonville. I would suggest that you take a side trip to Clarksville and take in Franklin Street for entertainment. If your presence in New Johsonville is not critical overnight, you might even consider staying in Clarksville and commuting to New Johnsonville during the day.

In Nashville, I would say that your best bet is the take the "tour" of Second Street and find something that suits your fancy. My favorite single spot in Nashville for dinner is the StockYard, just north of downtown. For a more relaxed evening, you might consider the Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery located on West End Avenue out near Vanderbilt University.

Treat New Johnsonville as a backcountry meal stop. Take your stove and food bag. Not much to offer. Nashville is another story. What are you looking for foodwise and how much are you willing to spend?

not overly worried on the cost of a good meal, i'll just have to average my expense report (go light on another meal). i doubt i'll worry about too much entertainment for dinner. i think my flight gets in to nashville around noon so i'll be looking around. maybe i'll check out the stockyard. i take it their specialty is steaks. i like all types of cuisine.

how long to drive from nashville to new johnsonville? clarksville to new johnsonville? the plant is in new johnsonville but i hate to get stuck with nothing to do in the evening. hotel rooms get small and boring.

Baume, I had in mind that New Johnsonville was further down river (the Tennessee River flows due north along this stretch) when I suggested Clarksville. New Johnsonville is about an hour from Clarkville. Dickson is a fairly progressive town and you might find it more convenient to NJ. Probably 20 minutes closer to NJ than is Clarksville. There is not much in the way of entertainment in the area you will be. TownDawg lives 40 miles or so from there to the west. When he gets back online, he might be able to suggest something.

Hey Baume-
If you like steak-pass up the Stockyard-Go to Jimmy Kelly's-
If you like Oriental try Ararang-

Check out 2nd Ave-might be a bit dead on the 24th.

1) Nashville to NJ, about 1.5hrs.

2) NJ to Clarksville, can't get there from there. (trust me)

The only restaurant in NJ is the harbor, and it's a dump. If you behave Baume66, I might let ya come over to my house for dinner... or go to 1860's restaurant in camden.

towndawg, i appreciate the offer of dinner but must repectfully decline. it now appears i will be meeting with a fellow in nashville from one of our other plants and doing the work thing. what do you know about the camden guest house?

once again, thanks for the offer.
