Ive discoverd that i can cook...

im soooo proud of myself.

I even made pancakes this morning...it was so easy! add water, stir...and dont forget to turn the stove on! then ya pour it on the pan. Easy as 1-2-3 :)”

“well when we first started backpacking we had one of those single burner colemans and it belongs to her. i lit the stove for her and tried to turn it on high but she said that was as high as i could go. I knew she was wrong, but, well she can be stuborn at times. about 10 min into the cooking she relized why the water wasnt boiling the stove was on its lowest possible setting. we turned it up and boiled rapidly. she drained it and put in the cheese as well as some salamie. it was the soggyest stuff know to man. long story short she leaves the cooking to me now.”

“At least it was edible when she got done with it! My sister put it back on the burner on it's lowest setting after adding the cheese and milk. And then she forgot about it. We caught it before it burned but it was as hard as a brick. She decided to feed it to the dog (we were at home). It came out of the pan in a solid mass, missed the bowl, and took a chunk out of the corner of the concrete porch. Of course, the dog wouldn't touch it. Man was Dad mad about the porch!”

“vyxtryx, I dunno if you're vegetarian or not, but I used to brown a little bit of hamburger, toss in a little garlic powder, chili powder, and onion powder, and dump that into the mac & cheese. Yummy!

If you wanna go completely poor white trash, add some crowder peas and a slice of white bread. Good eatin', and easy, too....”

“The tuna in the foil pouch turned out to be a great bp'ing staple. This weekend, I found chicken in the foil pouch (finally). No cans to carry and vix, you cand add chicken to any pasta dish.”

“Where'd you find the foil pouch chicken? What brand is it?”

“Purdue has pre-cooked "chunky" chicken in a pouch now...not just the pre-sliced stuff.”
