Valentine's Day Sucks

“I look at Valentine's Day in a similar manner to a card I received for my first wedding anniversary. It showed a couple with cartoon thought bubbles over their heads. Over the ladies it said ...chocolates....roses.....poetry. Over the guys head it said....sex in the kitched....sex on the waterbed....sex in the floor.

The caption said "I hope you both get what you really want for Valentines Day"”

“I usually spend little money on VD. Like many other people I surprise my wife with gifts throughout the year. She doesn't know it yet, but I got a little crazy this year, just paid about $165 so she could she her boyfriend! (He's only in town a few days, and missed him last year.) But I get to go and watch. Whoo-hooo!












Okay, one of her favorite actors is in Chicago for a short run play and I was able to snag some tickets today for Saturday. I told her that her day was planned after 3pm. It was great. She's trying to figure out what's up. Humorous to watch her try and get me to drop clues.

i have never "celebrated" vday. I get flowers, go to dinner, small nice gifts, etc., when I feel like it. Not on a day when all Men are told by Hallmark to do it.

Actually this year I will follow up my Christmas present with a nice Valentine's gift.

For Christmas I got her a nice 35 foot extra lightweight ladder. It even has outriggers so when she is cleaning the gutters on the second floor roof she won't tip over and fall.”

I wholeheartedly agree. The problem is that most people (men and women) forget to do the little extra somethings to make their loved one feel special and loved. Sometimes a holiday helps with a little nudge.”

“I told my wife when we first started dating seriously that I thought valentines day was a total scam, always what the guy can do to top whatever he did last year. Total crap. Told her that the only way I would be willing to really put any effort into the holiday is if we traded off each year. She bought it hook line and sinker, so every other year all I gotta do is pick up some flowers, kick my feet up and let her scramble for some romantic plan. She doesnt mind because she knows that Im more into it and less bitter on the years that it's my turn. Win win baby.”

“Damn V-Day has gotten me dumped in the past. A lot of guys can't handle the double whammy of my birthday and V-Day just 10 days later.

I've been stood up on V-Day and a few years ago someone slipped something in my drink and I don't remember the rest of the night. Woke up in a place I didn't recognize. Good thing my friend Beth took good care of me and had our friend Keith come get us. I woke up at Keith's house, wearing the Spam t-shirt I bought him. LOL!”
