I NEED A JOB!!!!View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 17 of 17 messages posted.
I need a freakin job, asap! “Ok, as a casualty of the dot-bombs, this Web Develper needs work. It's going on a year that I've been out of solid work, I need a job!! Anybody got any leads out there? I know we got some Web folks here, anybody's company got room? I'm desperate at this point. I'll move to anywhere at this stage, preferably someplace with hiking potential, but I can't be too picky. South Florida market just aint cutting it. HELP!!” 6:43:34 PM 2/18/02 “Fastimes - most people shiver with this thought, but have you considered New York? I've lived in the New York area now for 5 years, and granted I've had enough and am about to move to Maine, but you sound desperate and you'd have a better chance landing a job here than anywhere else. The negatives of NYC are obvious, nobody speaks English, it's expensive, the people are rude, ect... but here are a few good points: 1. Work is abundant in almost every career area. 2. The Catskills are only 2 hours away, and there are other surprisingly good hiking areas even closer.. black bears inhabit woods and mountains less than 20 miles away from Manhattan, believe it or not. 3. As I've been interviewing around Maine, working for a big well known company in my field in NY has really added a lot to my resume. These are just a few of the pluses. I've definetly had enough of New York, and I really can't wait to move... BUT the experience has been incredible and the past five years have been a lot of fun. I'm sure you could find internet work up here no problem, if you can stand everything else that comes with it!” 7:15:29 PM 2/18/02 “I did not know that there are black bears only 20 min's away from the city.......” 7:17:41 PM 2/18/02 DUDE GET A JOB “have you tried www.monster.com www.searchease.com www.ceweekly.wa.com www.Headhunter.net www.careerbuilder.com” 7:25:02 PM 2/18/02 “Fasttimes the Orlando area is opening up again. Up here in north Florida the pickings are still slim but there is work. Have you looked at computerjobs.com? They have a bunch of stuff around Atlanta and Charlotte. Big plus is that you are closer to the mountains. Avoid Citibank positions.” 7:28:32 PM 2/18/02 “what are jobs??? are they important? huh....i guess im clueless again...” 7:32:15 PM 2/18/02 “I have 212 jobs for you to choose from and I can get you assignment of choice.Where would you like to go? Alaska? Hawaii? Europe? or how about Korea? Just let me know. SFC J. Harrison aka Spam” 7:55:12 PM 2/18/02 “Spam... Don't tease me like that. I'm 33 now... How old do you take em'?” 7:59:43 PM 2/18/02 “Until your 35th B-day!!!!!” 8:03:17 PM 2/18/02 Spam-a-matic “Does a previous back injury keep you out? Or would my vast amount of business experience land me a better postion?” 8:15:49 PM 2/18/02 “LOL just depends on what position you would like to be in!! LOL!” 8:18:41 PM 2/18/02 SPAM-A-MATIC “I may be looking for something by the end of this week... I'll know more then... Maybe this is the time?” 8:20:16 PM 2/18/02 “Spam-uter do you have computer jobs? Something like virtual war would be fun” 8:21:08 PM 2/18/02 SPAM-A-MATIC “Hey Spamster... If I did decide to go your way... Do you get extra points if I sign up through you? Or should I check it out here in Sacramento?” 8:27:44 PM 2/18/02 “I do check the job boards daily and have two recruiters "supposedly" looking out for positions for me. I'd love to go to Atlanta, NC, or NY, but I find that as soon as anybody finds out your not in town they don't even give you the time of day. Guess I could start leaving off my address on my resume. Now as for military service, that would be classic, maybe if I was 25 I'd consider it, but not 30.” 8:28:10 PM 2/18/02 where are you? 8:39:09 PM 2/18/02 “I hear ya! It's tough out there. I haven't had any luck trying to find a job since I got laid off last August. I think the telecomm sector is at least as bad as the dot coms.” 11:00:27 AM 2/19/02
