I've heard boxed "wine" is not real wine. Rather it is a juice drink with a small percentage (like maybe 5%) of real wine.

on behalf of all us wine snobs everywhere
wine in a box sucks!!! might as well not drink anything...or rather...if it came down to a choice of Pabst Blue Ribbon or wine from a box...I'd choose the PBR.

Chief! $20 a bottle, ya cheapskate. Hey, $35 for some good wine to get your wife drunk er I mean in a good mood is cheaper than a divorce! p.s. congrats on the reconciliation

I hear Oregon is known for its Pinot Noir. I think I'll move there.

BENTONVILLE, ARK (AP) - Some Wal-Mart customers soon will be able to sample a new discount item -- Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, Calif., to produce the spirits at an affordable price; in the $6-8 range.

While wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart brand wine into their shopping carts, there is a market for inexpensive wine, said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. She said: "The right name is important."

So, with that in mind, here are the top 12 suggested names for Wal-Mart
Wine:

12. Chateau Traileur Doublewide
11. White Trashfindel
10. Big Red Gulp
9. Grape Expectations
8. Domaine Wal-Mart "Merde du Pays"
7. NASCARbernet
6. Chef Boyardeaux
5. Peanut Noir
4. Chateau des Moines
3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!
2. World Championship Wriesling

And the number 1 name for Wal-Mart Wine...
1. Nasti Spumante

Boone's Farm Apple Wine, my parents favorite selection until it went up to $3 a bottle. Weren't the '70s grand?

Well, chili, although the marinara sauce is red, the pasta is white, making that a difficult choice.

World Championship Wriesling had me laughing so hard, I was in tears.

Ice wine is most definately worth the price! On the other side of the spectrum however, wine in a box has it's place... the bag makes an awesome pillow when the wine's all gone!!
Heeeheeee heeeee *hic*!!

Yuck!

By the way when people complain while backpacking I have seen that it is something that they don't even see that can make the diffrence! The last trip I was on my club had got it's first newbie! He keep telling my that his sholders were hurtting him.So I looked at his pack and he did not have the straps right.I fixed the problem and low and behold not only did he stop wineing but he started to have a much better time.

Sometimes they look you right in the face!

WalMart used to have a "Wine of the Month Club", but the delivery people kept getting bit by the Rotweilers and Pit Bulls.
That was one great list. I will pass it on.

I've made a sincere effort to like wine in the past, but just couldn't develope a taste for it. I stick with beer. While wine is essentially grape juice, beer is liquid bread, therefore it's good for you!
