Crazy Mike...Do you ever plan trips away from Indiana? Such as places you have to fly to?

Years ago I went caving witht the "Hole in the Wall" Grotto from Casper, WY. We went into Big Horn and Horsethief caves in the Pryor-Big Horn Mtn's. These guys were really into "pushing leads". They'd find a crack along the floor and wall and squeeze through it, pushing as far as they could to find a new room. Sometimes it went nowhere and we had to push out backwards. I learned it was not for the claustrophobic. We were extending the mapping in Big Horn cave and would be underground for 10-12 hours. These were dry caves with really spectacular formations. Not many people get in there.

People who love wet caves have a patron saint. His name is Gollum.

I said "Gollum"!
That was meant as a put-down. Can't a guy even get a response to his trolling around here?

Those Were The Days
My friends and I did alot of amature caving about 10 years ago when I lived in PA. I bought a PA Geological Society book "Caves Of Western PA" and we hit most of them in the NW portion of the state.

Very exciting hiking...when you're underground.

I get to do a lot of caving around here (Northern CA), including Big Foot in the Marbles (I'm putting an album together on Web Shots) I still have a moment when entering some tight crawl's when I ask myself what I'm doing here, I like the technical aspects, repelling and ascending most.......my friends are the real fanatics, they have been known to crack ribs trying to squeeze into tight places...that's a bit much for me. One gal has been known to strip naked so her clothing and tights wouldn't snag and hold her back....never got pictures of that one though...........

I just added a caving album to Web Shots..Caving album There are not as many pictures of formations as I would have liked, now that I think about it, I tend to take pictures of my friends and forget about the scenery. I am still working on the captions and I'm still trying to find pictures of The Lava Beds and a few other places....too darned many shoe box's with pictures....actually found a pair of shoes in one.
