I'm back from Peru

“I am happy to report the rain forest is still big and beautiful. I had a great time meeting the people and riding up the Amazon. Visited three different villages along the river.I just have to say ,we are very lucky to live at the economic level we do. Prayed for one little girl with malaria, broke my heart to see her father crying. Water is not fit to drink most places. But I saw a well pump at one of the villages where I think an other group workers had helped them pay for and install. Wonderful friendly people and harsh but beautiful country. I'm happy to be home.”

“Pictures are being done the old fashion way. I will try to get some help to get them on the net. Bad news-I'm sick-I thought I got away scott free but Montazuma's revenge is having rugby game in my gut!
Tommy-Yes a trip like this can't help but change you. I'm grateful for what I have even more than before -if that is possible.

One more thing-I met the original missionary to the area Bill Pepper. 1963,He met his wife there who was a nurse and was there to help,He said they were the only two Americans in the area met and fell in love. He is my hero and I can't get enough of His stories. Tales of jungle tribes,drownings, poisonings by fish, pulling teeth...the man should write a book. This is the first time I've ever had a real hero.”

“Buddur Cup-No I didn't stay on the coastal side of the mountains. I did see the Andes from the plane, I was in the Amazon basin. The 7 hours I spent on the Lima airport floor trying to sleep was an adventure in it's self. Girls the Peruvian men were HAN-SOME!”

“I'll prob. go back next year-you can go-the cost is about 2000$. Are you in to mission trips?”

“I'm not a writer but I guess I could give it a try. I'll have to get back with you later. My pics are being scanned by a young kid friend of mine and I don't think they are high on his priority list.”
