Ridge rest or Z rest ?
Hey Guys,
I already have one of those inflatable thermarest but my ridge rest got FREAKING STOLEN from my car!! Pissed! GODDAMN *(&^*&U^*&*!!!!

So now I'm undecided between
the Ridge rest (deluxe) or the
Z-rest.

All suggestions and advice are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I've had both and I like the Ridge Rest better. I got the Z because you can pack it flat but I can also fold the Ridge Rest. The Z Rest went flat after a few seasons and I find the cusion of the Ridge Rest better and longer lasting.

Sorry, hit submit too fast. I'd go ahead and get the Z Rest anyhow just to see if ya like it or not. It's a cheap mistake if ya don't dig it and someone will buy it from you if ya don't like it.

Posturepedic Pads For A Good Night's Sleep
If you're into reducing your packweight the Z-Rest is the way to go, and any ultralighter will tell you they are the most comfortablest pad on the market (of course it's all in their head). The RidgeRest won't flatten with time as Mr.Nigal stated and has a better R-value and it too is comfortable. However compactability along with comfort is my main priority, so an inflatable ThermaRest is my #1 choice regardless of the chance of getting a hole and going flat.

Just my $0.02.

I've got a Z-rest and its not a lot different from sleeping on plywood. Weight be d_mned I use it with a shorty thermarest and get a good nights sleep with warm knees.

I like my Z-rest cause I can fold it up and sit on it like a stool.

Which pad is less likely to slide around on the user(s) if they are, shall we say, enjoying a little nocturnal horizontal recreation?
I need a pad that's going to stay put!

I had just a little trouble with the Z wanting to fold back up if I scooted up on it.

Goose,
1)Duct tape your partner to the mat.
2)Proceed.

There are a million uses for that stuff...

Both pads are actually the PELTS OF A RENEGADE TRIBE OF ALIENS being held at Area 51. They are UNSANITARY and are BAD FOR YOUR KARMA.

gearjunkie: Your duct tape suggestion has merit, though removing it may be tricky.

chili36: Will a sheet of tyvek and some mink oil suffice?

Budder: (he said hard on) hehehe!

roseymonster: OUCH!

scully: bring extra tape this weekend!!! wink-wink

What's our safety word?

I am trying to pack lighter and havinga hard time convincing myself that the Z-rest is the way to do that. I am particularly worried about Summer camping where it will feel like a rubber waffle on my bare back.
