REI investment check

“Hey, what was I the only one that got a check today? Yeah, it was a wopping $14.00. Looks like I'll be spending my check on candy or maybe a pair and a half of socks.

“I have been replacing my 20+ year old gear with newer, lighter gear.. over the last couple of years. My son thinks he should have the same gear too...so I've been buying 2 of everthing.

The part that stinks is I had another $325 worth of purchases that were "nondividendable"!”

“Sometimes Campmor has some really decent sales, a lot better than REI. I just happen to have my catalog here at work, but I don't see anything about a dividend program. Maybe they're cheaper because their catalog is in black and white.”

“Yeah, it's on cheap paper too. I wonder if you save more at Campmore than you would get back from REI, anyway. Which puts you farther ahead in the long run?”

“Just used my dividend electronically, w/o waiting to see how much came in the mail. Clicked the little box on the order - a sleeping bag on sale - and it automatically deducted the amount (a whopping $16 and change). But that took care of the shipping and tax.

I know what you mean about replacing stuff, WW. I was debating about my mummy bag, realized that my Cats Meow is nearly 15 years old (doesn't loft like it used to). Made the spending for a new bag easier to swallow. And so did the dividend. I can't forget about the check now, like I did last year, LOL.”

“I spent my dividend online today, got home and the check/ballot/catalog package was in my mail box. Figures.”

“I got $267. A high dividend check means I spent too much money last year. Snow Nymph is bumming 'cause she thinks I'm getting more than she will. I told her she can buy some of my stuff this year so she gets a better dividend.
