Due to nearby construction it appears that the cap to an old sewer line has popped off directly under MY office. The whole office stinks, but especially mine. All doors are open with fans going. I even have an ozone air filter right next to me. Talk about being greeted at the door when you walk in.

It turns out the UPS unit on my computer had shorted out. The computer turned off and I checked the unit. It was so hot that I could barely touch it. I drug it outside by the chord and a clear liquid was leaking out. Within 5 minutes the air smelled good again. It was a battery problem, but it smelled like sulfur. If this had happened overnight Fri instead of Thur we could have really had a problem.

Oh sure, laugh it up guys! You know, construction is a necessary evil, and #&%!$ does happen! I'm a bit defensive, since i design sewers for a living!!

A cable on my garage door snapped last night at 1:30AM, and I couldn't get my car out of my garage this morning. The cable and pulley kept jamming the rollers for the door. After about a 1/2 hour of fiddling with the sucker, grease all over my hands, all dressed up for work, I got it open far enough to get the car out, but I was late for work.

My poor dog :(

Shasha dog just came back from a check up at the vets because she's started dropping weight real fast....

not lookin' so hot. Lots more tests schedualed. May be cancer/immunity and bladder issues. Also she's picked up round worms and for an old dog to pick them up-----that goes along with the immunity thing.

Our old vet told us not to worry about the tumors she was getting (we've had em removed in the past) and were told they were harmless fatty tumors. This doc took a sample from them and said NOPE not fatty. He couldn't identify the cells himself and is going to have someone at Purdue take a look. he says not to even bother removing them though untill we find out whats wrong with everything else......just in case it would be better to 'make that decision'

Poor Sasha :(

SC...Morgan (16 year old Chessie) is way past the one paw in the grave and three on a banana peel. But she is MY baby and what used to be a trip to the woods to romp is now a cuddle on the bed or couch....I know time will run out. I know the clock is ticking.....but I am helped by the thought that she was the start of my career working with Chesapeake Bay Rescue. It was in the 1990's (mid I think) that Daisy my other pup passed. I came on the threads and emptied my pain (so long old friend) and Amy G (God Bless her) directed me to CBR Rescue.....since that time we have adopted 4 Chessies, helped directly find homes for 8 and fostered 5 or so...and rescued (directly) 5. When she goes I will cry, but I will know that she really helped so many being the special girl she is.

We had the option of Purdue as well however the bladder specialist down there said the x-rays and ultrasound did not look good.

Nic, has the vet explained an old disease affecting dogs right now? Apparently back some time ago, dogs would step in the waste of a wild animal and it would eat away at the dogs bladder. The dog would have lots of blood in its urine and basically, if untreated, the dog would loose control and urinate whenever.

This receintly started again and vets started vaccinating for it again. Shelby had this vaccine introduced just before she became ill.

I will always wonder if the vet screwed up and there was something that could have been done to save her.

WK, I haven't seen any blood in her urine. Hadn't heard about that old disease though, maybe I should ask the vet.
