Glucosamine/Chondoitin w/MSM
Does any one take this for there joints?

If so how satisfied are you? I just started taking them instead of the Celabrex the Doc had me on.

They say the Celabrex could cause hart failure and bleeding kidneys.

Im going all natural!

I have been using it for over a year and highly recommend it, almost everyone I know uses it (were all beat up)..I was using Vioxx (similar to Celabrex, I think) and didn't like the potential for side affects (very dangerous if you get dehydrated, my usual operating mode). It takes a of month or so before you will notice any benefits though. It was recommended by my regular doctor as well as a "climber" doctor I hang out with. I still have some Vioxx in my first aid kit just incase, haven't had to use it. I still hurt, I've just gotten use to it.
Is it just me, or when you see all those comericals on TV for all the new wonder drugs, do the side affects seem worse then the sympitioms they are trying to alleviate?

Something else I use is a magnesium supplement (magnesium, calcium and zinc, actually) it really seems help with the sore muscles after a tough trip.

Prowler - Did the doctor tell you to switch? A friend uses it and claims that it helps.

I had been taking Knox's NutraJoint for several years. It contains hydrolyzed gelatine. I think it helped my knees that need replacements, but it is difficult to be sure.

Now I just avoid citris acid, take one-a-day vitamin pills and do a lot of physical stuff like working on my feet, workouts, bicycling, swimming, a aikijutsu, and slow mtn. bp-ing.

Good luck.

ya, the doctor said Glue. MSM is mostly for older folks but because of my age and the problems to switch to a more natural resolution than perscription drugs. Im prescribed Vicoden which I dont like to much for the pain, so it all works out a little.

I tried the glucosamine and couldn't detect any difference;however,it is supposed to work for some folks. I take a multi-vitamin, 400iu of vitamin E, and a prozac a day keeps the worries away. I also try to eat a well ballanced diet and exercise often. Like bacpac, ibuprophen is a friend which I am well acquainted. To all of you younger folks, I say, "Take care of yourself, it will pay dividends at middle-age".
