Savage Gulf Trip

“Me and bitpusher showed up and everyone was ready to rock and roll..just about..lol..Windwalker, his bro, stikmon, supertroll, bitpusher and myself all headed down the stone door and along the gorge trail...great initial overlooks...beautiful country..Ranger falls were just GUSHING, and a site to see. The sink was very neat also. The last stretch into ALUM gap was a killer..but had us ready for supper, lots of talking and then sleep. Skully, sauron, and goose all came in on the Rim trail. the next morning after breakfast has Supertroll going out first, then Windwalker and brother along the rim. And Stikmon, bitpusher, myself and joshman heading out the laurel trail.
Had a blast meeting everyone and this are is truelly beautiful and a nice and moderately challenging hike.
BPBaby...should have joined our campfire you were a trip!!..and thanks for the ECT patch...josh...i now know how to fit a 12 pack into a pack because of you!!”

On the hike out Me and my bro "Pack Rat" hiked the trail till we got to the Sink Overlook and used the GPS and went cross Country back to the Ranger station. That was a fun bushwack.
Afterwards we went to Pizza Hut and pigged out on the Pizza Bar.

Scully, did you by chance find it as you all were leaving? I don't remember seeing it on the ground anywhere when I left my campsite. This is a real puzzlement to me. I guess REI will be seeing me again this week!”

“Had lots of fun on my first ECT trip. The Savage Gulf area is beautiful. When described the trip to my wife, she said is sounded like she would have enjoyed it!!!!

I think this is a sign of the coming apocalypse.

Anyway, good to meet everyone who, people are always the best part of the trip.

No wait, the best part of the trip was meeting people I found on the Internet, going backpacking with them, and coming back home with both kidneys!”

“Being Suthrin' that's how we are raised to address a known group...and a fine group of people you all are! The trip was a lot of fun, glad the tradition of the Pizza Hut lives on. Stone Door is an impressive sight, and the Big Creek Gulf trail was a neat hike. I agree with Opie, the last uphill into Alum Gap was a kicker, but made stopping at the top so much more enjoyable, LOL. Tried my new filter bottle out on this trip, broke the zipper on the tent, so I'm looking for a new one, or maybe given the time of year, I might just Tarp for a while, now that it's getting warmer. Opie/Bitpusher, it was nice to meet the local hikers, gimme a shout when the next local hike occurs will ya? Great trip.”

Sorry katibug, I didn't see a headlamp on the ground as we headed out. Don't feel too bad, I lost my first Tikka on a trail in Michigan. I only hope whoever finds it enjoys it as much as I did but for much longer!”
