Want to get a bag liner to use as my primary bag in Summer and to keep my bag clean and to avoid nylon at night in the Winter. I am trying to lighten my load as much as possible so I was thinking about silk. Any reason go for Egyptian cotton over silk? Any other material I should consider?

Never mind - just found kleetn's old thread on the same topic.

Any new opinions would be welcome...

we had a company by the name of Jagbags sponsor our hike and sent us each one of there silk liners. we used them all the time in Florida when it was to hot to use a regular sleeping bag. we also have used ours in the winter now inside our sleeping bags. we like them very much and they are available on the net.

Silk liners are very comfy; you can get them cheap from campmor.
