Pay per view free concert
Check out Jewel's free concert on pay per veiw every weekend of Feb. It is outstanding-she is involved in a project called "clearwater"to raise money for clean water for disadvantaged people. She is coool!
That has got to be Ty Murray's campionship belt buckle she is wearing. How cool is that!

I think it's cool she didn't run out and fix her teeth as soon as she got famous. Any way she's got it going on -she done rustled her a cowboy-she must be doing something right!

Ty Murray lives in the town down the road. The locals think Jewel is a snob who expects special treatment. The locals are rude, arrogant redneck Texans. I like her new stuff too, but I sure hope my daughter doesn't run off with a cowboy!

The concentrated sugars in raisens combined with their naturally adhesive property produce a food that will rot your teeth as fast as anything, one scoop or two.

She's pretty, and a couple of her songs are cute...other than that, I don't know too much of her.

Heard she sang in small places in San Diego when she was starting out. I didn't know about her teeth and don't know if she is a snob...maybe the locals are jealous?

I think Pay-Per-View is actually the name of the company, it just so happens they're named after the services they provide. But yes, it is somewhat of an oxymoron.

The New Wild West
There are so many factions and cue-card reactions
It's hard to keep clear the possibilities here
'Cause there's no force to unite them
Privilege has ruled for thousands of years
Wars have been fought with bibles and tears
Yet liberation can't deny the temptation and soon becomes the oppressor
Show me a leader who's fit to lead
Who don't sow his seed in anything wounded enough to breed
Because after all, what fun is power if you can't acted like a rock star?

Welcome to the new wild west
Each man for himself
A nation of civilized steeples
And lonely people
Welcome to the new wild west.

Sorry Tara-I posted Sunday night-when you still had a last chance.
Her opening song was an opera number!

Well I got two songs in me, and I just wrote the third. I don't know where I got the inspiration or how I wrote the words. I spent my whole life just digging up my musics shallow grave for the two songs in me and the third song I just made

I saw Jewel this weekend at a small venue - Interlochen Arts Academy (northern Michigan) - where she graduated high school. It was really laid back. She did a couple of her big numbers, including "Hands", when the power went out. Whoops! She played it cool, though, got off the stage, and started signing autographs while they fixed the sound. She started Hands again, and then asked the audience what they wanted to hear. She had to get off the stage before 11PM, though, since the curfew at the school is pretty strict. She's quite a talented performer. It was a great concert!

They have a lot of summer camps there. There were a ton of students on campus. We ended up giving our extra ticket to some lucky soul who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

What really cracked us up was the dress code. Light blue shirts, navy pants/shorts, red sweaters. Lots of kids/staff chose the knickers over regular pants or shorts. Can't imagine why anyone would choose that fashion, other than it must seem like a completely normal part of the culture there. Looks goofy to us "outsiders".

I saw her this weekend in Cleveland -waaay cool. I also have all her CDs and both of her books. She is very good with words to say the least. Here is a little romance for ya-

"Gather Yourself

Gather yourself at the seashore
and I will love you there.

Assemble yourself with the wild things
with songs of the sparrow and sea foam

Let mad beauty collect itself
in your eyes and it will shine, calling me

For I long for a man
with nests of wild things in his hair

A man who will kiss the flame."

I love Jewel. Her songs and poetry are very touching and I find a lot to associate with in it. The Indigo Girls are the way for me.

I don't know if the Indigo girls are "The Way" but I think they are very cool. And yes yes she sang Cleveland as her last song. She said she wrote it there. My favorite "Everyone needs sombody" and" Fly".
