They're calling for 8-12" of snow here over tonight and tomorrow. Of course, last time we had a "winter storm watch" we got much less than expected.

Please please let it fall. We've been jipped out of a winter this year and it's about time we get some decent snowfall!!

We only got about 4-5 inched of realy light stuff out here in Cody, WY. Snowing light again.

We could use a real dumping of heavy wet spring stuff.

Aero/Newgirl, either one of you guys going to the Winter Carnival in Red Lodge this weekend?

I'll probably be there with my daughters. I'll probably be on the BeirStube Deck.

It snowed all of twice when I was growing up in New Orleans.

It was unbelievable; nobody knew what to do. Cars were crashing everywhere. I saw one guy letting the air out of his tires before going down an off ramp on the theory that he'd get more traction or something.

It didn't work.

Dark clouds stack up against the north wind`s blow
there`s a change in the weather, bring on the snow
now a winter wonderland what was earlier a busy street
mittens, scarfs, warm clothes and rubber boots on feet
the kids are out in the thick of it all as quick as a light
in the middle of making a snowman out breaks a snowball fight
well that`s how it is and the way things go
always a child at heart, bring on the snow

I have to tell you all just how beautiful it is here this morning, same general area Tarabull was talking about. Its a real wet, heavy snow, and has blanketed all the trees. I slept with my curtains open last night. I love how the moonlight reflects off the snow as its falling.

Yes, Smiley, it is gorgeous.

I'm a little strange when it comes to snow... I think I get overly excited. I woke up several times throughout the night to check it out. By 3am, it looked like we had accumulated about 5". We (Oakland County) are expecting another 4-8" by sunset.

Maybe they'll cancel my evening class!

BEST SNOW YET!
All this snow is great!! Sking was a blast! Breaking trail was cool but I didn't like the sections that were so sticky is was walking in my skis. That was the toughest 7K I've ever done! :o)

I haven't missed having to get up at 5:30 AM to shovel/scoop the snow out of my driveway. A small price to pay considering all the fun I'm having while playing in it!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Snow?

Memphis hardly ever gets snow. What we get is about a 1" rain at 34 degrees, then a temperature drop to about 20 in two hours.

Called a good old fashioned ice storm. All the trees get good and soaked then, wham, they freeze up and crash.

The streets really get sloppy when that happens.

I love seeing the transformers blow up in the distance. It's a interesting sight!
Last night at the grilling table, Cupp and I were standing there talking and my table umbrella blew straight up "Mary Poppin's" style. Cupp grabbed it. It was a good thing he had that beer in his hand for additional weight or he woulda went up with it!

Bring it on
Silver Snag is getting a good base for Winterfest 2004!

Spirithand and I went x-c skiing last week near Lassen...Mt Shasta has 2 to 3 feet now and will have more by Saturday.

My biggest decision this week is, do I ski on Shasta or hit Loomis Peak.

Most of Quebec is supposed to get up to 30 cm, plus the strong winds that Maple mentionned. It's supposed to rain in southwestern Quebec (here), but I hope it means snow in the Dacks. I'm really hoping that the trail and swampto and from Bradley Pond will be frozen.

I drove in to Montreal and got snowshoes for Louise at Christmas. I hope we get lots of snow.

The snow line from yesterday's storm is at about 7000', it was a beautiful drive this morning, seeing Red Rocks with a cap of white snow on top. I can't wait to hit the slopes!!!!

Sass, are you talking about the two poles on the south side of Schoolcraft, weat of Farmington? Two poles, simply snapped. But that's not what caused the power to be out here at work most of the day. Further west on Schoolcraft, there were some more lines down. They don't let us go home when the power's out, though. We had to stay here and find work to do. Got a little chilly in here but not too bad. Tough to find work to do without a computer or phones.

I feel for ya Smiley girl....through wind nor rain nor snow or any crappy weather that the Northeast has, manufacturing hardly ever shuts down. I think over the past 7 years at my previous job we had probably a total of about 3 or 4 "snow days". :( Anyway I love the snow, just don't like to have to drive on the roads with the crazy people that do 65mph in blinding snow....that's just insane. But I love to play in it. One year my daughter and I(she was a teenager at the time) got so excited about the first snowfall, that we both made snow angels in our backyard. :)
