This is what I got, Walkindude.. but it's the only thing I have on this so far. I am going to look tonight to see if it is listed in more detail in any of my books.

The main thing I had hoped to hear from you, WD (or anyone else who may have HIKED it).. is.. "how is it?.. nice?.. good views? would you go again?"”

“So far that is the only place that has a shelter on the whole Cumberland Trail.
Do you want me to send you a map? It's an older map so the shelter isn't shown yet.
The Th is at Tank Springs in LaFollette.
From there you gain a few hundred feet and walk the Ridge to Devils Race Track. GREAT VIEWS! Part of the trail has been rerouted and I don't know if it's complete all the way to Cove Lake SP yet. There is probably a faded trail if you can find it that will take you all the way there. For now they recommend that you just back track back to LaFollette.

“I decided to check out the link you posted. Seems it's been a while since I've been there. I see they do have it reopened to Cove Lake.
I helped work on the Smoky Mountain section south of there. They got Elk running around that area now.
When are you going?”

“I've not even seen the Shelter that's on the Eagle Bluff section yet. I may go back up there this Spring and check out the new parts.”

“Dude I want to go on the LBL trip but I havenot gotten any email fro Gypsie what should I do becuse I need a place to stay Friday night?

“Find your way to I-24 in Kentucky and get off at exit 31 and go south. That's the LBL exit. Golden Pond Visitors Center is about 20 miles down.”
