The length of time and process are not critically essential to the issue at this point. Two humans were given stewardship over the earth to subude it and populate it. The precise nature of that stipulation is not clear. But the woman chose to disobey that directive, followed by the man choosing to disobey. At that point the perfection of the creation was shattered. The rest is history.

Incidentally, just ofr kicks and giggles, a study of mitocondrial DNA (which reflects only the maternal lineage) has indicted that all people groups may very well share single maternal ancestor.

In that one decision event the rest of the story was set into motion. Human action initiated it all.”
