I'm not so sure abortion can be categorized as liberal/conservative. I know some extreme lefties who are against abortion.

conservative doesn't mean christian, you can be gay and conservative too. Of course, there is the issue of bigamy for me. Ok, never mind, I withdraw my offer.

Man knowingly does things to the planet that he knows are bad for it, just for the power he can gain over other people. Al Gore and his critics both fall right into cabal.

You know...with most "religions" when a person starts a real "control rant" (take any of the Evangelists of the 80's and 90's or even the Gorebal Warming bunch) I have found the best policy is "Follow the Money"

I must confess the funniest thing that I found about Mutt et al is how completely gullible they are. There is an element of seriousness in my post about the origins of global climate change. But there was a lot of tongue in cheeck as well. But obviously the trolls can't simply chuckle. Oh well... the ulcer will be theirs.

Rev, these are your posts on this subject, which started with wanderer. Perhaps you meant it as a joke in the beginning, perhaps not, but you defended it exactly like you defend every other faith based opinion you have. So tell us, is it your faith that you think is a joke, the concept of original sin, or original sins impact on global warming?

The problem here is that a bible thumper claiming global warming originates from original sin, as preposterous as that is, is no more preposterous than the idea that the devil would take the guise of a snake to trick two naked hippies, one made from the rib of the other, into eating an apple and thus causing The Father to toss his children out on their ass for it.

your posts...

“"Climate change" is inevitable. Why is it taking people so much by surprise? Humans caused it, in the long run. The diagnosis of the problem is nothing new.”

“The pure and simple issue that global climate destruction IS man-made. It is the result on one decision made in the echoing corridors of time to take upon ourselves the power to do anything and everything we think is a good thing with no contemplation of the consequences.

The second pure and simple issue is there is nothing _we_ can do about it without increasing the idiocy that caused the problem in the first place. The idiocy which says "if I _can_ do it then ipso facto, I _should_.”

“RamblinRev, help me, I'm trying to understand what you're trying to say here:

The pure and simple issue that global climate destruction IS man-made.

Did you mean to say that you think Climate Desctruction is man-made? Just wanted to clarify, if that's what you meant you left out a couple words...

It is the result on one decision made in the echoing corridors of time to take upon ourselves the power to do anything and everything we think is a good thing with no contemplation of the consequences.

What "one decsion" was that?

The second pure and simple issue is there is nothing _we_ can do about it without increasing the idiocy that caused the problem in the first place. The idiocy which says "if I _can_ do it then ipso facto, I _should_.

“If you have no idea then you are not likely to follow the reasoning. But here goes. The world/universe was created in perfection. The length of time and process are not critically essential to the issue at this point. Two humans were given stewardship over the earth to subude it and populate it. However, one stipulation was placed on that. They were not "eat of the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. If they did they would surely die.

The precise nature of that stipulation is not clear. But the woman chose to disobey that directive, followed by the man choosing to disobey. At that point the perfection of the creation was shattered. The rest is history.

The fundamental issue is that by choosing to do whatever we want to do, regardless of what the consequences are we lay the the foundation for our own further destruction. There is no way we can get back to that state of environmental perfection on our own. Just can't happen.

Incidentally, just ofr kicks and giggles, a study of mitocondrial DNA (which reflects only the maternal lineage) has indicted that all people groups may very well share single maternal ancestor.

In that one decision event the rest of the story was set into motion. Human action initiated it all.”

You really don't get it. Go back and read Crash ?Bang's post. He is hardly a Christian apologist, but he got the point. The post was indeed a bait to Mutt. and in fact to you although I will not call you a troll. But in that narrative, whether you accept it as true or not there is great wisdom. Action without thought, or action based on a lie, take your pick is dangerous business. So look beyond your own hatred to meanings that can be found. Use that intellect you are so proud of. There is wisdom to be found in many places. Some we can agree with, some we can't. But that does not change the value of the wisdom.

I can no longer qccept a pagan world view even though I was steeped in it and began to pursue the priesthood in it. Yet there are areas of wisdom in the pagan perspectives which are valuable for living.]

Please look past your own hatred and distrust to the wisdom that is there.

Basically what the rev has done is stretch out a just-so story, apparently seeded by Crash Bang, to squirm out of his predicament. There's no way to prove that he's lying, but there's also NO indication from his previous posts to indicate he's telling the truth.

But if he is telling the truth, then his "profound" message is little more than trite common sense: doing stuff without thinking may lead to bad things. Deep.

So, either way, it amounts to yet more useless jabber from a religionist.

Rev, I was raised baptist and have visited many other churches of friends and family in my youth and as an adult. I know what Christianity is. I read the bible both in bible study as a kid and as an adult during a soul searching period. My wife and kids attend church regularly, but unlike many hypocrites I see there when I visit for non-service events, I am not going to pretend and attend. I fully believe that there is more to life spiritually than just living then becoming dirt. I just don't believe that it is the cobbled together stories in your bible that is the truth.

If you continue to want us to believe that you meant what you said as a joke then you must want us to believe that all of your expressions concerning your religion is a joke as well.

Soooooooooooooo back to my original post UPDATE
EDINBURGH, Scotland - A Scottish council on Thursday rejected a plan by Donald Trump to build a golf course on a stretch of remote and stunning coastline that is home to some of the country's rarest birds.

"Mr. Trump is shocked, extremely disappointed and dismayed at this decision," said George Sorial, managing director of Trump International Golf Resorts. "This is certainly not something we expected."

After a heated debate lasting 2 1/2 hours, Aberdeenshire Council's Infrastructure Committee rejected plans for the Trump International Golf Links after a tie-breaking vote from the committee chair. An initial vote was 7-7.

Opponents of the development said sand dunes at the Menie Estate, 15 miles north of Aberdeen, should be protected as the habitat of rare birds such as Lapwings, Redshanks and Skylarks.

A week ago, Trump and his organization were jubilant when another council committee approved the golf course in a 7-4 vote. But Thursday's vote takes precedence over the earlier decision.

Sorial, who attended the Infrastructure Committee meeting, said: "On a personal basis the Menie project has been of great importance to Mr. Trump. I have just spoken to him and he cannot believe this.

"The council failed to take into account the wishes of the people, and ultimately they are the losers here."

snip

Michael Forbes became a cause celebre after refusing to sell his farm in the middle of the estate to Trump. The tycoon called Forbes' ramshackle land with dilapidated barns and abandoned tractors "a disgrace to Scotland."

On Thursday, Forbes said: "I am delighted at this result. At last someone's seen sense. The whole project was about building houses, not the golf course."

Councilor Alastair Ross, who led opposition to the plan at Aberdeenshire Council, said: "Very little of the money generated from the project would have remained in the area. There was a fast buck to be made."

Still, throwing up a link or a dire prediction about the end of the earth due to man without any concrete support only to back it up with name-calling or other pathetic form of insult only serves to weaken your already weak arguments.
