Wow - some great deals

Vasque Sundowners - $50
Marmot Eclipse - $150
Osprey Crescet 90 - $210
Lowa Deparados - $50

Didn't get anything though - they didn't have what I needed - silk bag liner, sil nylon tarp, light weight pack.

Lots of good 3 season gear though.

Looks like the Fall sale starts on Friday 9/20 at noon. I think I'll take a long lunch on Friday and head up there to poke around. I might catch some of the better deals earlier on.

Big Coop-Now that I am stuck in Orlando this weekend (even though we have nothing), what time are you going to be at Travel Country tomorrow? I get off work at 0500, and I think they don't open till 1200, I will be awake by then...

Sorry - I didn't catch this until this morning. I have a meeting in Cassia (north of Sanford) until 'noon and I was planning on stopping by TCO on my way back to the office. I think I'll probably be there from sometime between 12:30 to 1:30.

If you're trying tospot me - I'm the 6'6" guy looking at the cheapest gear.

Well I was there till 1400, standing in line for about the last 30 minutes. I looked for you, did you make it?
tango

I don't know how I missed you? I was only able to be there for about 15 minutes from about 1:40 until about 1:55. After looking around and not finding much I pulled a pair of Marmot gloves off the shelf and went to pay - then I saw the huge line and bailed. I wonder if you were in line then? I probably saw you, but I had scanned the place already (but not the line) and assumed I missed you.

Darn.

I went back today when I had more time - I picked up:

Patagonia Puffbal Pullover $65
Marmot Fleece Gloves $10
Marmot Dri Clime Long Bottoms - $30
Smartwool T-Shirt $35 (too much)
Merino Wool Socks $5
Colin Fletcher Book $4

Not too bad.

I'll definitely catch up with you in Ocala.

What'd you get?
Big Coop

Mountain Hard Wear Down coat 100 (it was the last one and not marked)reg 200
Columbia Fire Ridge Pant 20 reg 75

Patagonia capilene tee 9.00 reg 30

I know your saying what'd I get all that cold weather stuff for!? But I plan on doing some cold weather stuff and when I go to work at 0430 in the winter it is mighty cold, now I'll be toasty! Where did you find the book? Was it the only one? I was also looking at the lumbar packs but...

I probably should have looked at Phils Photo page before I left! Looking forward to seeing you in Ocala!

Yeah - I don't think I'll ever need the puffball here in Orlando, but I do plan to do some colder hiking eventually.

Oh about the book. It is "The Man Who Walked Through Time" which he wrote in '67. I found it in a cardboard box by all of the gloves. It was the only CF book in there, but they did have some topo maps of the various places out west as well as a bunch of Ed Abbey books (but not "The Monkey Wrench Gang".)

Spring Sale
According to their website (which was off by one weekend last time), the Spring porch sale os on the first weekend of March (1,2,3). I'm sure we'll get flyers soon. Big Al and Tango - we'll have to make a date.

It's Tomorrow
I should be there shortly after noon on Friday (tomorrow). If you look to see what is on sale on their website then you can get a good idea what you will see at the Porch Sale.

This is the single largest gathering of outdoor gear geeks in Central Florida (other than TT trips in Ocala).

March 27/28 this year. It's only on Saturday and Sunday this year. I stopped by the store this weekend and didn't see a whole lot on sale racks which means I bet the sale itself won't be as large as it was in recent years.
