Another Tent
My quest for a tent that meets all or most of the criteria for solid shelter has led me to the "Thru-Hiker" by Mountain Hardwear.

I recently rolled up all my loose change, and three hours later had 225.00.

Found a " Thru-Hiker" for 199.00 on the web, and it's on the way.

Hope to give it a solid test on the June llama Ramma.

New gear ROCKS!!!!!!!!

I have the MH Nightshade
Great tent, roomy, spacious, bomb proof and water tight. plus some really great features. If I had the $$$ for a new tent (and I do) I am in love with their trilight1. NICE>>>>>>>>

The "Tri-light" was my first choice. The weight is what caught my eye. A bit small, and I already have a two one man tents

The Thru-hiker looks like it's built to be more of a 3 season plus. Able to take the pounding of some serious wind that seems to find my campsite for time to time.

Spent 17 hrs. pinned down in my one man a couple weeks back in some BIG TIME wind. Made the decision then to make the weight for room sacrafice.

I have the Muir trail and it is a convertible version of the thru hiker. i love it! it is a little small though for full on winter use.

I have the Muir Trail also. Well made and bombproof. It is on the heavy side but it's great insurance.

The Thru-Hiker arrived today. Nice tent but I'm sending it back.
No one had it in stock or I'd have save myself return shipping.
Going to go for the Tri-Light 2 instead. I plan to have MH add two more guy-out loops up high on the fly. This should help keep things nice and tight when the wind kicks up, making it more a 3plus season.

Anyone hear of a sale put it up on TT.

First off there are no guy points up on the fly, ground level ones. Also the rear zippered opening is just a slit, not a window opening.

I want to be able for the tent to handle a light snow. The pole configuration at the roof does not look to me like it would.
Also the Tri-Light poles are lighter. The top of the door is cut back a bit,for ducking under.

May sound like whinning, but this might be my last big purchase for awhile, so I am being picky.

This tent was huge compared to what I'm used too (one mans)
