Weminuche Wilderness
Would the Weminuche Wilderness, specifically the Williams Creek trail to the Indian Creek, be a great place for a 5 day hike in late May? Would seeing people be rare?

I dunno.
"Rare" is a relative term...

I was there in July (Animas R., Chicago Basin), and it was pretty crowded.

Even in May, and even though the wilderness is 400,000 acres, you'll prolly find plenty of company.

Weminuche
In late May you will probably find a lot of snow -- and thus few other backpackers.

In New Hampshire
I found LOTS of snow and Lots of people (snowshoeing, xc skiing, winter hiking/camping) over the winter holidays.

Some people thouroughly enjoy the wintry backcountry, and spend as much time out then as they do in the warm months.

The Weminuche, overall, is quite popular, and I would expect to find people in the backcountry at any time of the year.

Will this trip include the Memorial Day weekend?
