“Ahh.. more forwarded email.. heh.. Mow I am an expert in herpetological species? ================================== You said I could seek your advice for hiking in the Smokys. Mainly I am going to photograph some of the herpetological species of the area. Last year I found several large garter snakes on the AT around Siler's Bald and many different salamander species all over. I was particularily looking for the copperhead and timber rattlesnake. I think they may be in the lower elevations, but if you have seen any dense populations I would appreciate information on where you have seen them. I am looking for large areas (southward facing) of rocky outcrops on sloping hills accessible from the trails. Any ideas? =================================” 7:51:45 AM 3/05/02 “SnakeDawg! Well, what answers do you have for the hapless emailer?” 8:03:01 AM 3/05/02 Just Look At Their Lips “Aren't most hookers Herpetological?” 8:13:37 AM 3/05/02 Don't like them. “I have seen several and have been told that there are a lot of timber rattlesnakes in the area along the Lakeshore Tr. between the end of Lakeview Dr.(the Road to Nowhere) and campsite #73, Lower Forney. I suggest that you check with some of the Park Rangers.” 8:32:46 AM 3/05/02 “I think snakes are cool along with all other wild animals. Wild and free baby!!!!!! 8)” 9:43:12 PM 3/05/02
