PETA attacksView Messages“Gotta add my 2 cents. Once while working in New Hampshire, at a Post Office, on the entry sidewalk, I had an incident with a gun toting man. I had the side walk properly cordoned off, according to postal regulations, a sign redirecting the public to use the handicap ramp, and was quite obviously laying patching concrete. All of the sudden, this man steps over the rope, and I point out to him that I was patching the walk and could he please go around. He unleashed a tirade about this being America, and that this was a public way and he could walk there... I was about to tell him that so long as I had it properly cordoned off, it was not a public walkway. But then I saw the pistol, such a huge pistol, strapped to his waist. I stood back and waived him right through with a bow. I did go in and check out if he was able to bring a gun on the premises, and the way I read it, only law enforcement officials were allowed to, and concealed weapons permits did not allow them to bring a weapon on the grounds. It mentioned a felony... This guy was, quite obviously, not a police man. Well, you know what they say about first impressions. This guy represented the NRA to me, for quite a while. I know some others now that are not so whacked out and I have tempered my opinion some what. But the NRA sponsored laws are so broad, that this nutcase is still out there with a gun. I wonder how many more??? I have nothing against owning a gun, even lots of guns (you can only shoot 1 or 2 at a time), but I really would like to see the NRA truly do some protecting. Like protecting me from the nut cases who own guns.” 5:48:23 AM 3/12/02 “Guns aren't nut cases, people are.” 6:05:09 AM 3/12/02 “Support the right to arm bears!” 10:38:04 AM 3/12/02 “Guns don't have nuts, nuts have guns..........” 10:43:01 AM 3/12/02 “Ohio has two concealed weapons bills in the house right now. I'm thinking of something along the lines of a Glock 19 for carry. Heck, I'd even use it to defend the life of a liberal. Gunz rule!” 11:01:37 AM 3/12/02 amen “How can anyone think it's the gun? And the laws are there...have been there...they're just not enforced!!! Come in my house, and take my gun...I'll shoot ya!” 11:20:15 AM 3/12/02 “Yeah, those cops are all hangin' at the donut shop.........laws not enforced Nigal- Forget the Glock. Get your self a Wang 9!” 11:53:48 AM 3/12/02 “Tom, the cops are rounding up the perps, but the courts keep letting them go. Maybe the judges should start hanging around the Krispy Kreme.” 12:10:35 PM 3/12/02 Still the NRA “I'm not even a member, but the NRA is the purest example of a grass-roots organization. Just private citizens, lobbying our government the way it is supposed to be. I laugh at the ignorance of those who demonize this group; this group represents people. Sure, you may not agree with these people, that's your right. They own guns, and that is their right. Uphill Climber... How do you know if that person was a member of the NRA? You dont, but I'm sure you stereotype every white-guy with a flannel shirt as a gun toting religious fanatic. If PETA had the membership that the NRA boasts they would get their laws passed too; however, they do not. Why is that??? Maybe because they are a vocal minority. God forbid if NRA members used the same logic, and methodology to reach their goals as PETA, ALF, and ELF. Think about that... I can still remember an aritcle written by a PETA member that I read in Backpacker Magazine Sept. 1999 "Fish Have Feelings Too." How can anyone logically argue with that?!? These people are so far out of the main-stream, or too young and idealistic, to bother debating. The bottom line is simple...I own guns, and I'm o.k. with that. Have a nice day.” 12:50:59 PM 3/12/02 “Oooooo, Whiskey River...... What ever anyone may think about the NRA, they are not exactly a grass roots organization! They are HEAVILY funded by the weapons manufacturing industry....BIG BUCKS!!! PETA??? Who the hell knows where they get their money? THe guy in Uphill Klimber's story was obviously a Nucking Fut!” 1:46:52 PM 3/12/02 Yep “I've seen some serious yahoos with guns; much like the afformentioned dolt in Uphill's post. But I'm not going to give up my rights, to take away their guns. If some idiot blows his head, or a member of his family's head, I'm ok with that too. Natural Selection has helped propagate our species for millions of years, why mess with that now? Sorry, but I must respectfully disagree with the grassroots comment. Corportations give money to the NRA for obvious reasons. I'm sure PETA gladly accepts "$" from sympathetic entities as well. The NRA, PETA, and many other groups ARE GRASSROOTS. And every grassroots organization accepts donations from members as well as commercial interests. The NRA is always demonized in the same mold as Corporations, Religion, and Capitalism. What do these have in common? They all are substantial roadblocks to the real underlying agenda of the environmentalist movement, the Socialist agenda. They represent the front-line of the battle between the haves & have nots. Concepts such as "property" and "freedom" are constantly attacked by an endless barage of superficial platitudes, and vague generalizations. Why is my freedom such a threat to these people?” 2:11:16 PM 3/12/02 “Those people can't imagine such freedoms...I think they're scared if there is too much freedom they'll have to take care of themselves...” 3:03:37 PM 3/12/02 “But it's only the freedoms you agree with, right? You're some big Libertarian --- but only as far as guns are concerned, I'll bet.” 3:11:08 PM 3/12/02 “Yeah, you got me Tilt...that's it...I'm just the hick driving by in the truck with a gun in his back window... Any other sterotypes? Or is that the best you've got?” 3:19:39 PM 3/12/02 Hey Tilt... “My view is simple, If what your doing does not interfere with me, or anyone else's well-being I really dont care. Go bang gongs, blow whistles, and work yourselves into a diversity frenzy for all I care. Just dont come to my door and tell my what to eat(PETA does), how to think(PETA & NRA both do) What to buy/not buy(socialists such as PETA, ALF, ELF all do), or how to live my life.(Parents, Relatives, Friends, Reps, Democrats. ALF, ELF,PETA, DR. Laura,Ashcroft, Biden, Waxeman, Fienstein, Boxer, and every public employee on the face of the planet.) I'm a peaceful, freedom loving person, but if someone, or some organization makes my business thiers, I'll make thier business mine. No, that is not a vieled threat, it is an overt statement of fact. I live my life, like a live my life. I do not require, nor do recognize any authority other than my own good-sense. I coexist peacefully with my fellow humans; so long as they reciprocate. PETA should retain their tax exempt status, for no other reason except to ensure peoples right to organize for any cause, regardless of the tides of public opinion and current events. The funny part is that I doubt one PETA member would feel that way if the NRA was under attack. To the socialist mind this is a zero-sum game. Preservation of freedom and democracy is not in thier creed.” 4:08:47 PM 3/12/02 “Guns don't kill people people kill people. 8|” 4:14:37 PM 3/12/02 “Spot on, eh? LOL It's impossible to tell becase You Haven't Answered The Question. Should I type more slowly? One More Time... Do you support the basic tenet of the Libertarian Party to let everyone basically do as they want or do you pick and choose which freedoms you would and would not allow? I also think Whiskey should elaborate on his support of familial mass murder. How about that woman who drowned her children? GREAT JOB, eh? I can certainly see why people are falling all over themselves to go hiking with you in Oregon, LOL” 4:19:15 PM 3/12/02 And a good day to you too Tilt... “I'm sorry you feel as though you had to get personal. I'm not a libertarian I'm a human, and I'm sorry if my views offend you. As for hiking, I will hike with anyone, of any political persuasion. I do not require assimilation of my views as a prerequisite of friendship. When on a trip I do not alienate people with talk of politics, or religion; indeed, I make a point of respecting everyones point of view, or at least offering the illusion of respect. I do not shout people down, or make cat-calls if they insist on a controversial conversations. And most importantly, I never NEVER attack someone personnally by making inflammatory statements. It really shines the light on ones true character. I stated my view, I dont know, or care, if they mesh with the Libertarians or not. I dont f&^k, with you, you dont f&^k with me; that's how I live my life. Simple, Crude, and maybe primitive; but egalitarian in nature. Tilt...you have yourself a great, great day, ok buddy....lmaol” 4:35:36 PM 3/12/02 “You people take things way too far. Can't we all just get along? 8) Play nice kids! LMFAO!!!!!!” 4:37:51 PM 3/12/02 “policies of the NRA cause me to own a gun.” 5:06:53 PM 3/12/02 “LMFAO!!!!! 8)” 5:09:54 PM 3/12/02 “The Libertarian question was for itsonlynatural. Sorry Whiskey, but when you said "If some idiot blows his head, or a member of his family's head, I'm ok with that too (sic).", you crossed a very bright line. Are you surprised that people go after you 'personally' for advocating MURDER? Wow. I guess gordon's bit about hunting down PETA members like animals was all in fun, too? Sick, dude. Sick, but in character. Oh, BTW, Andrea Yates was just found guilty on all counts.” 5:24:25 PM 3/12/02 “Do you support the basic tenet of the Neo-Nazi Eco-Terrorists to let everyone basically do as they want or do you pick and choose which corperations and SUVs you would and would not allow?” 5:28:14 PM 3/12/02 “Gee, tilt. You make it sound like PETA members are human.” 5:32:44 PM 3/12/02 “That doesn't even make sense, Nigel, < GRIN >.” 5:32:47 PM 3/12/02 “Right, gordon. What set you off in the first place? < GRIN >” 5:35:15 PM 3/12/02 hmmm....whatever “Now I advocate murder? Use your critical thinking skills and try to understand the context of my post. No No, on the other hand dont. It's so much easier to label me. I'm sorry but I feel as though it would be unfair of me to continue a dialogue with you Tilt. But if you'd like to take any more personal shots at people please do, it speaks volumes about you...” 5:41:46 PM 3/12/02 “Did you miss it? Would you like me to quote you again? Okay, here you go: "If some idiot blows his head, or a member of his family's head, I'm ok with that too." (sic) What's complicated about that? It seems straightforward to me, anyway. It's plain to see that you can't defend the statement because it's indefensable. There's no reference to it in your replies.” 6:05:17 PM 3/12/02 “For what it is worth it would be ok with me if Tilt blew his brains out. On second thought that would only provide fuel for the anti-gun lobby. Maybe you could stick a fork in your eye.” 6:15:13 PM 3/12/02 “It would be interesting to see what happens when a bullet enters a vacuum...” 6:28:39 PM 3/12/02 “Well,,,, I can't tellya Gordy, I've shot up alot of the things in my life but never a vacuum. I'll have to get back to you on that one!!! I imagine a dust filled bag would look perty darn kewl after is was slammed with some #7 shot. Come to think of it I've been dying to get a one of those new fangled canister windtunnel jobbers. HMMM.” 6:42:42 PM 3/12/02 “uh.... WhiskeyLake... I never thought that guy was a member of the NRA, he had no badge or what have you. Yes, I said for many years he represents the NRA to me. I guess I should have stated that he represents the NRA sponsored laws resulted in a nut like showing off his gun like that. I guess what I would like to see is some reasonable way to restrict the nuts from getting guns. What do you think, can I count on the NRA???? By listening to their own advertisements, you'd think I could count on them.....” 7:00:58 PM 3/12/02 “The sadists are now in session. 'Birds of a feather,' as they say.” 7:21:10 PM 3/12/02 “Stick a feather in your eye.” 7:58:36 PM 3/12/02 “So can we attack PETA members like animals? They claim to be there equals?" Itsonlynatural 02:32:49 PM 03/11/02 Can we shoot NRA members? They claim to be above animals. Let's see if they don't bleed like animals do. Let's see if putting a bullet between the eyes of a NRA member kills them just like an animal.” 8:49:22 PM 3/12/02 “"That doesn't even make sense, Nigel, < GRIN >." I rarely do...I rarely do.” 10:43:47 PM 3/12/02
