Banff Mountain Film Festival
I hate doing advertisements but this looks like a good one. maybe I will see some of you there and maybe not.

2 1/2 hours of magnificent cinematography includes films from Canada,
USA, South Africa, Denmark, Mexico, UK and Slovakia. Stories reflect a
wide range of mountain experiences and portraits from mountain sports to
mountain culture and the environment.

Sheesh, I can't believe I am going to be left dateless for this...
with all the TT studs here, nobody wants to help me out? You mean to tell me, I am going to have to scrounge up some non-backpacking (gasp!) fool to attend?

oh, the humanity.
:(

Sorry, AmyG,
I saw it last month and it was one of the best yet.

I also went to the Montreal showing of the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival and it was a rip-off. The best film was one of Will Gadd and a buddy still with taped-on finger spurs on 80's tools and heel spurs which Gadd dropped a couple of years ago.

I'd seen the same film about four years earlier at the Banff showing.

Be warned, peeps, they're not all good.

Doh, looks like it has already come and gone in my area. :(

great...it's narrowed down now to one of my girlfriends who doesn't hike is is already complaining about having to get up early the next morning, blah blah, blah - or - a guy friend who is an IT geek and thinks that geocaching IS backpacking.

hmmm....decisions, decisions.

I can't believe none of the eleventy-million PA peeps are going to this! Losers.
:p

I propositioned you on another thread, Ms Gee. Don't you pay attention?
What time is the fest on Sunday and where in Bethlehem. Depending on what time I get home from bp'ing, it could be doable.

The Denver show was pretty good. The first film was done by a guy from Boulder and was probably my fav, it was 'different'.

The last film they showed was humorous, but a little dumb.

well, I brought a non-backpacking girlfriend with me and she absolutely loved it. Of course, the fact that the place was a sausage fest might have helped too.
;p

The rock climbing clip ("return2sender") was very cool - especially since I am not really a climber. It's something I have always wanted to try though and this gave me some good insight with a great sense of humor thrown in on the narrator's part. He was wacky...even blew a snotrocket in mid-sentence and never missed a beat! LMAO!!!
