Mercy My Butt
I saw that article on 60 Minutes? (or like program), had to be more than a year ago. The circumstances were extremely fishy (imo) and I'm surprised the killer got off on such an easy sentence.

Ok, so for any of you going on Montanapalooza this summer; when we're up at 10,000 feet and I say, "Man, I'm dyin'!' Don't take it literally!

Weren't they 1/2 mile from their vehicles, on the other side of a low ridge? I think I read that if they would have gone up, the car was on the other side.

I led a trip where I had to deal with a smart @ss 23 y/o know-it-all. She was always on my heels, and on the 4th day when we stopped, she followed me to look for a campsite. A few minutes later, I ran back to the group, yelling that she broke her arm. Six hours later, we got horses to come in and take her out. The big joke after that (and the years to follow), was that I pushed her. I really didn't do it, even though I wanted to. Little miss know-it-all tried to go down a rock slope covered with black algae. Duhh!

Story in Outside Mag...
Hee hee Snow Nymph, I read your post a 1/2 year back...we believe you.

If ever I backpack with you...I'll tie you down before I turn in.

Yeah, back to that killer...the friend that got knifed was bigger and stronger...I don't think he would've wimped out that easily. Plus they still had some canned food left...food with juices in them ie. sardines and stuff. I read in Outside Magazine a few years back that the killer wanted to be a hotshot sports/adventure writer...maybe he thought this was his way to get famous.
