You could devise a clamp system that would allow you to put a camera on the top of your pack. However, you couldn't keep the camera steady unless you could learn to walk without moving your torso up or down or sideways.” 10:35:29 PM 5/21/03 “Not a problem, just devise a way to hook up a SteadyCam Jr into/on to your backpack, you cold go internal. Geezzzzzz media. "Also, Jon Krakauer was climbing down there and had a video crew with him so someone has developed a system." yep it's called "a S H I T load of people. CMB - Cache some batteries a head of time, set up a support team. There is no way that you could make what your thinking with out it.” 10:45:06 PM 5/21/03 P.S. “....you're at about 41 % now....” 10:46:02 PM 5/21/03 “Mike, I would love to see a bping movie w/ you in it! Hilarious. And good idea.” 10:56:42 PM 5/21/03 “Maybe Tilt and Bacpac could do a "backpacking" video.” 10:58:45 PM 5/21/03 “anyone would get seasick watching a movie that was filmed on a camera on CMB's pack!” 11:05:07 PM 5/21/03 “Good point Pepper.” 11:17:12 PM 5/21/03 Laqtis “Or, you could just carry a steadicam jr. After a few hours maybe the shoulder muscles would just lock into spasm and the pain would be minimal...Are you volunteering to carry my batteries or were you referring to a different buttload of people?” 12:14:26 AM 5/22/03 “Maybe flyguy could ESAD. HA-ha-ha Film at Eleven.” 12:26:42 AM 5/22/03 “I think I am going to start looking into this and set the wheels in motion. Lots of good ideas here. 8)” 5:56:59 AM 5/22/03 “Tilt I have that video, it's great!” 8:09:45 AM 5/22/03 Mikey Cam??? “WTF!” 8:29:50 AM 5/22/03 “There's a guy about an hour from me who's a freelance nature film producer. I saw him talk once at an Audubon Club local meeting. He sat in a tree in South America (or Africa??) in a rainforest filming the harpy eagle (I think) for a National Geographic special. Also, did some work on, as I recall, a submarine trip under the North Pole??? (could this be right??) I read in the newspaper where he is that 2 guys from Britian are going to produce a documentary on the Mississippi River, and they had seen this guy and were going to use him for production. Hmmmmmmmm.... maybe time to make acquaintances, and ask if he likes backpacking???!? LOL!” 8:45:49 AM 5/22/03 “Media, I have done some independent documentary work producing and directing a piece on water pollution and conservation. I also worked at a post house in Chicago. I produced openings, tags, bumpers and closings for a line of documentries which aires on A&E and is hosted by Bill Kurtis. A steadycam would be too heavy, even the jr. I would use small digital recorders. Excellent picture qualtity and I can import the footage directly into a AVID XPress.” 9:28:32 AM 5/22/03 “One word: aircraft. Select a location peppered with helipads and/or landing strips. Even the most remote locales have such for firefighters, outfitters, etc. An air-accessable basecamp would be warranted, IMO.” 9:49:41 AM 5/22/03 MEDIAMAN/Power source “http://www.icp.ca/ Here's your source for the power, look under BY USE for the Military Foldable Power P3 panels in nylon case...Up to 36watts, 19.6 volts SF uses these to power radios and charge batteries in the field, should fit the bill...” 10:38:24 AM 5/22/03 Pricey...Did I mention that? “$410.00/$720.00/$867.00 But if it's any consolation built to Mil Specs and they WORK...I have used these panels, as recently as last Month...” 11:04:45 AM 5/22/03 “Thanks, Supertroll. I'll take a look at those. Actually ICP was on my list of companies to check out. I'm getting ready to invest quite a bit of money into this venture so I'll just add it to my budget.” 12:18:05 PM 5/22/03 “i got my first shining rocks trip on a video, my friends wanted proof that i did it solo...(i was 6 months post broken ankle/surgery and they were appalled that i was going....o ye of little faith...heh.) it is really good too, full moon and all, creek sounds ....” 12:40:50 PM 5/22/03 “I will bring the popcorn and we can watch CMB's home movies... Six hours of trees and bushes. It should be great.” 12:53:06 PM 5/22/03 “Media, let me know if you need anything, be glad to help!” 12:59:55 PM 5/22/03 “Get me some snaks to Mr Pakpak! (I do not like popkorn verry much)” 1:00:40 PM 5/22/03 “lol bacpac...thats true, ....my video is two hours of fall colors and sky and the sound of me going....whoa, o my gosh,....awesome....beautiful....whoa......:)lol the most exciting thing was catching a mouse running out of my backpack one morning.” 3:41:17 PM 5/22/03
