You could devise a clamp system that would allow you to put a camera on the top of your pack. However, you couldn't keep the camera steady unless you could learn to walk without moving your torso up or down or sideways.”

“There's a guy about an hour from me who's a freelance nature film producer. I saw him talk once at an Audubon Club local meeting.

He sat in a tree in South America (or Africa??) in a rainforest filming the harpy eagle (I think) for a National Geographic special. Also, did some work on, as I recall, a submarine trip under the North Pole??? (could this be right??)

I read in the newspaper where he is that 2 guys from Britian are going to produce a documentary on the Mississippi River, and they had seen this guy and were going to use him for production.

Hmmmmmmmm.... maybe time to make acquaintances, and ask if he likes backpacking???!? LOL!”

A steadycam would be too heavy, even the jr. I would use small digital recorders. Excellent picture qualtity and I can import the footage directly into a AVID XPress.”

Select a location peppered with helipads and/or landing strips. Even the most remote locales have such for firefighters, outfitters, etc.

An air-accessable basecamp would be warranted, IMO.”
