But, it is known the heat output from the Sun is very stable, waxes and wanes a little in cycles that have been observed. Mars and to a greater extent Pluto have much more elliptical orbits around the Sun than does the Earth, so over a couple of (Earth)years for Mars or centuries for Pluto those 2 planets/bodies will be much closer and then much further away from the Sun, so warming and cooling even though the Sun's heat output would have changed very little over that time. Any dramatic warming or completely out of the ordinary climate change that occurs on Earth the next few years will almost certainly not be due to changes in Solar heat output. last edited: 11/11/06 8:32:49 AM” 8:26:05 AM 11/11/06 “When I was 12 years old the Priest told me I had to quit exascerbating or I'd go blind.” 8:30:14 AM 11/11/06 “My condensed dictionary is limited and I run into trouble with words having more than four letters. "No results found for exascerbated. Did you mean exacerbated?" "No results found for exascerbating. Did you mean exacerbating?" Or maybe "exasperated" and "exasperating" might work, too.” 9:21:12 AM 11/11/06 “NS, there is no "s" in the word; I was merely duplicating the spelling in the original post..perhaps due to my deteriorating vision. It was a joke.” 9:26:16 AM 11/11/06 “Nimblefoot - I know! LOL. I'm simply seeking to improve my spelling. Also, I like to be a troublemaker. What else can I do? It was a joke" I run dictionary.com in a window and throw words in there that I'm a little shaky on. It came back with the correct spelling, by my c and p didn't transfer. Thanks for the pick up. Good post, lone. Let's also not forget that the magnetic fields of the plants in question are very different as well. Blogs aren't really the best places to get good, solid info. "Aboriginal communities in Ontario's far north are becoming increasingly isolated as rising temperatures melt their winter route to the outside world and impede their access to supplies." "But average temperatures have risen during the past decade, weakening the ice and shrinking the bulk-shipping season by several weeks, aboriginals say." "During the coldest months between January and March, 'winter roads' are cleared on the frozen network of rivers and lakes to let trucks deliver bulk supplies like fuel and building materials. Beardy said the communities he represents have lost up to a month of heavy trucking time 'because one or two degrees really makes a big difference' to the endurance of the icy route." "Sea ice in Hudson Bay, Ontario's north shore, thaws and breaks up a week earlier every 10 years. 'The changes in temperature are reflective of changes we're seeing globally,' Whitewood said. 'They are also in keeping with what we would expect with climate change -- a greater warming in winter temperatures and in the Arctic areas.'" http://robots.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/11/13/canada.environment.reut/index.html” 2:26:19 PM 11/13/06 “Well we really don't need good scientific information. The truth is that we need to FEEEL that it is happening. And we must all recognize that the only solution is for America to just go totally aborigine (with the possible exception of the Socialist Government which will solve everything else). The great thing is the rest of the world can go on as they want. No biggie, once America is destroyed global warming will be gone. At least we won't have the useless government entitlements to pay for studies.” 2:30:44 PM 11/13/06 “So if I pass more gas, winters in PA will be warmer? I dont see a downside...I'll have beach front property! :)” 2:58:32 PM 11/13/06 “We could grow oranges in Alaska too.” 3:01:42 PM 11/13/06 “All of the sudden Reno, Nevada is the new Malibu!” 3:17:41 PM 11/13/06 “Wait...if the Arctic people can't get fuel they won't be able to burn it...so that helps reduce the pollution too, Right? I am still worried about the threat from Carrots....EVERY PERSON WHO DIED ON THE TITANIC had eaten carrots. I think its cubed, not flat.” 11:37:47 AM 11/16/06 the disclaimer! “The Flat Earth Society is not in any way responsible for the failure of the French to repel the Germans at the Maginot Line during WWII. Nor is the Flat Earth Society responsible for the recent yeti sightings outside the Vatican, or for the unfortunate enslavement of the Nabisco Inc. factory employees by a rogue hamster insurrectionist group. Oh, the human is insignificant as compared to the god created big skies and oceans. Think again, the also god created number of humans hasn't been in decline. If Dick Cheney is right that the rest of the world wants to be like us, then, 'too big', will soon be the norm.” 9:53:10 AM 11/30/06 “"Hmmmm, for the Atlantic, a one season swing from a most active season to an inactive season, sounds like instability to me. Note - the Pacific has been very active in 2006." I heard that sans storms off the coast of west Africa were high this year, which can impact the development of tropical depressions. Once all of the data is in, perhaps it will be clearer to just what is going on. Remember, we complete a global wobble cycle in 6 years; it could get a little interesting. IMHO, I agree with lone's observations. At this point, it shows climate flux. To go from one extreme to another is enough indication that more attention should be paid to the causes, natural or otherwise.” 9:54:35 AM 11/30/06 “We/re all going to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” 9:56:54 AM 11/30/06 “lmao! Being a nice guy he walks up to her and asks her what is wrong. She replies, "I am a Paraplegic I am 25 years old and it hit me the other day that I have never been kissed...I mean really kissed by an attractive guy." The guy thinks...so he leans over and plants a DEEEP kiss on her. The next day he sees her crying again...he asks what is wrong this time? She says,"Well after yesterday I thought about it and I fear I will die without ever having a handsome man really Fkuc me good." So the guy picks her out of the wheel chair and gently carrys her out this long dock to this secluded dock house...right before he gets there he turns and tosses her in the water...as she is floundering he says, "There, now you are truly Fckued"” 10:09:03 AM 11/30/06 “BALTIMORE - Global warming doesn’t seem like an inconvenient truth to John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil Co., the giant U.S. subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Dutch/Shell Group. “Shell takes the position that the debate is over,” Hofmeister, who is on a 50-city, U.S. talking/listening tour of energy industry stakeholders, told a packed Greater Baltimore Committee-hosted business gathering Friday of the greenhouse gas-blamed global warming controversy. “This country should be embracing the issue [of managing greenhouse gases].” Even the oil companies are leaving SS, XL and the other wackos behind.” 10:14:23 AM 11/30/06 “'What me worry?', I do what I do with stock quotes. The venerable environmental organization and avian champion was now on record as embracing wind power." "Flicker (president of the National Audubon Society) summed up the Audubon perspective with stark directness. "When you look at a wind turbine, you can find the bird carcasses and count them," he said. H20: The 21st Century Oil last edited: 12/14/06 11:39:46 AM” 11:38:39 AM 12/14/06 “ ”12:34:55 PM 12/14/06 “You know I noticed last year after February and March (when it was in the 30s) by June it was up in the 80's BUT...last week we were in the 20's here....I think Global Cooling is setting in. (LOL) The terminology should be Global CLIMATE change the answer is YES there is. Now from the 13th century to the mid 19th century we went through a Little Ice Age. This means for the last 150 or so years we have been coming OUT of an Ice age. Lets see, now when WINTER ends...it normally (except for the period of the Little Ice Age) GETS WARMER. Addtionally there is evidence the Sun has been hotter....don't know how many people have ever had a camp fire but if you build it bigger and hotter the immediate area gets hotter. The entire tack of the Global Warming loons is not that there is Climate Change...but that MANKIND WILL DIE unless...the UNITED STATES gives up its prosperity. That in itself can only be arrived at with the FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELINGS of Liberal Socialists..... In the 1940's to 1989 there was another theory of "SAVING MANKIND" that involved the destruction of the freedom and prosperity that we enjoy in order to make the world better....HOW'D That work out.” 12:48:37 PM 12/14/06 12:54:36 PM 12/14/06 “"2006 was the Earth's sixth warmest year on record, averaging 0.4°C above the 1961 to 1990 average, according to the World Meteorological Organization. The records extend back to 1861. And the UK charted its warmest year ever - its records go back to 1659." http://environment.newscientist.com/article/dn10800-2006-was-earths-sixth-warmest-year-on-record.html Go ahead and stick your heads in the sand, boys. Go ahead, we'll wait.” 1:41:15 PM 12/14/06 “all the heat probably doesn't have anything to do with the sun” 1:42:12 PM 12/14/06 “"Go ahead and stick your heads in the sand, boys. Go ahead, we'll wait." The current climate condition is an issue, what ever is causing it. Even if we were to do a 180 on the research already presented and say all of this is not human induced/exasperated, we have developed and placed so many people that will have property under water if the current trend in rising oceanic levels continue at the present pace. Current climate change is an potential future economic/political issue for this country. We need to take proactive measures. While everyone sits around complaining about what caused it, New York goes under water.” 1:59:17 PM 12/14/06 “YAWN....Laq...if the North Pole melts how much will it raise the ocean level?” 2:02:18 PM 12/14/06 “I don't think anyone really knows what is happening with respect to Global Warming. I am split in the middle on the topic myself. Bottom line is that we really need to explore alternative fuel sources. This is suppedly happening now, but if you read the Energy Act that Bush and Company wrote, the oil related companies get infinite tax breaks under the law, while tax breaks for alernative energy companies are limited to smaller terms that need to be renewed. Big oil still has a hold on many of the wallets on Capitol Hill, unfortunately. It will be too late once we pass the Peak Oil period and some nations withhold oil production due to hatred of the U.S.” 2:03:31 PM 12/14/06 “maybe if you guys weren't so selfish worrying about if you can live like kings with your heated homes and automobiles you wouldn't be crying so much” 2:46:15 PM 12/14/06 Jump to Page << prev
