Look, I am not suggesting that his work should go unrecognized. I think he got a lot of people thinking about our impact on the enviroment. And that is a good thing. I am not a scientist, so I have no idea if his opinions are based on real science or not. But suggesting that global warming causes wars is a real stretch in my opinion.

Hyway - the nuclear thing is a dated picture - Environmental concerns are far more mainstream now than the picture you seem to paint there - but I don't really blame people after the nuclear accidents of previous years either. I'm not against nuclear in theorory, but I don't want to live next to a plant.

The competition thing is a smokescreen too. Relieving America of the dependence on fossil fuels, (a finite resource) will leave America much much more compeitive in the future as other countries battle it out over scare resources. It seems to me that the only thing stopping more comprehensive legistlation to drive an alternative energy future - is the money being pumped by big energy companies into Washington.”
