http://forums.backpacker.com/thread.jsp?forum=1&th “http://forums.backpacker.com/thread.jsp?forum=1&thread=3769 Start with some Zacharain rice. Get the Jambalaya package, comes with rice, cayenne peppers and some other stuff to make it come together. Put at least two cups of water in your medium pot, and bring water to boiling, steep and cover. In your fry pan, toss in a couple cans of canned shrimp. I won't argue the weight issue, nor the garbage you have to haul out, but you can heat those shrimp up and toss in the contents of the ziploc bag (you brought from home) containing the previously sliced, fried, and frozen cajun sausage -- and chopped green onion. About the time that gets looking good, you should have found your largest pot, added a good cup of water or so, and if you have some herring, go ahead and add that also. Yes, I know this is fish soup. NOTE: Comes canned, from Norway, and you can get it with a tomato based sauce or one with yellow paprika. Three pots now, one with rice and Zacharain's, one with the meaty part of the Zambalaya (cajun sausage, green onions and sauteed shrimp), and the last/largest one poaching the fish broth. Get it all in the same pot, and bring to boil. If the rice is done, go ahead and eat. Hope you enjoy.” 11:32:48 PM 3/10/02 “Forgot one item: I also tossed in one package of the commercially available deyhdrated chicken.
