Visiting Ground Zero/ NYCView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 5 of 5 messages posted.
“can someone please give me advice on how to visit NYC w/out having to drive into manhattan. is there a train, subway, ferry i can take? is there a place i can park in NJ to go to NYC? i'd like to visit the city, spend a few bucks, hopefully see ground zero. thanks.” 10:38:41 AM 3/11/02 “You can take the PATH train from Hoboken or NJ Transit trains into Penn Station, buses or one of several ferries. To visit 'Ground Zero' you'll have to pick up your free tickets at South Street Seaport which will give you a half hour on the viewing platform to pay your respects.” 12:36:28 PM 3/11/02 “Jmitch - Violin's right, path is a great way to go. Beware though, parking in Hoboken, NJ can be worse than Manhattan, no exaggeration, but you can take the path at other spots but I don't have any experience on that. There's a ferry in Weehawken (next town north from Hoboken) that I've heard good things about, and I think the parking is probably easier. If you decide on one of these routs and need directions to get to Hoboken or Weehawken, lemme know. I'll be happy to help.” 1:16:10 PM 3/11/02 “jmitch, there used to be a train that you could take from the Philadelphia airport area to NJ near the Parkway. There probably is a connection to get a train from there to Wall Street. I'm sorry that I'm so vague on this, but maybe your phone book has a section in the front that discusses mass transit to major cities from your area.” 6:21:29 AM 3/12/02 “There are trains all over the NY area. They take you right to Grand Central station.” 6:37:56 AM 3/12/02
