“Can anyone comment on 2 sil-tarps I am considering? The Campmor is 58” x 90”, $39.99, and 7 oz., the Intrgral Designs is 5’ x 8’, $70.00, and 10 oz. I’m curious what the extra $ and weight are for. The Campmor one also comes in a larger 58” x 104” size, $44.99, and 8.5 oz. Is the extra length necessary to cover, say, a full GoLite Daypack? Are there any others I should be looking at? I like the idea of trading a 12 oz jacket, 12 oz tarp, and 5 oz packcover for a 7 oz poncho.” 5:23:57 PM 3/11/02 “They have great tarps at wal-mart. I am going to get a 8'by10' and it's real cheap and it does the job. 8)” 5:30:05 PM 3/11/02 “sil tarp = sil poncho” 5:49:01 PM 3/11/02 Best guess “Extra weight is because the ID is 2" wider and 6" longer. The ID also has 12 tie down loops, but the other has only four. Extra price is for the material and the name. For a more detailed discription, try www.backcountrygear.com. The Equinox Terripin poncho is the same one Campmor sells under their own name, and they also carry the ID Poncho/Tarp” 6:43:14 PM 3/11/02
