Need Help in Oregon, My partner backed o ut.

“Hello all. My partner just backed out of out planned Spring Break Trip. We were planning on spending two nights in the Berley Lakes/Santiam Lake areas. The trip was to occur between March 22nd--28th. If anyone is interested please let me know. I can provide transportation, if needed, to anyone in the Portland/Salem areas.”

“Here is the deal; I've got a backup partner, but he is less than ideal. He likes to backpack, so long as he does not run out of the seemingly endless supply of alchohol he brings with him. Despite my name, I'm not a big drinker, at least by comparison.(My name is an actual destination) His dog enjoys taking off after equestrians and other dogs; which makes me look like an a-hole as well. He gets so drunk that I've caught him several times before he has fallen into a bed of red-hot coals. His dog listens to me more than him; but not enough by any means. He doesnt leave the tent until 11a.m. at the earliest.(a good thing sometimes.) And refers to any women hiking together as possible lesbians. Dont ever,EVER, stand near him when he's got a hatchet in his hand.(trust me on that one folks.)
Why do I hike with him you may ask yourself?


1. I've know him since High School.
2. He's very predictable(devil you know vs. the devil you dont know.)
3.He's chronically unemployed(plenty of free time)
4.His clock always reads 4:20...

I would prefer not to give him a call if all possible, and I'm also moving this thread to the top of the list. Hope to hear from you soon.

“Well as you might expect, he does not have a phone. I should have included the entertainment value his presence adds on occasion. Good thing he doesnt have/or know how to operate a computer either. Honestly though, he'd agree with my assessment. He'd probably only get angry about the dog comments.”

“He's a character all-right! If he was in better psyical shape it would be better, but all the beer and bong resin seems to hold him back; 1.5 packs of Camels per day doesnt help either.
