“Congratulations crazy mike, your gonna have fun...it's also a lot of work..I've been fortunate to have tested gear for quite a few outfits...your in for a lot of paper work.

Be honest, don't just tell them what you think they want to hear (I don't think you will have a problem with that). I told one outfit that if they didn't change their design, someone would die wearing their product...after I sent the jacket back, I didn't hear from them for a couple months, and figured they were pissed off at me, when I received a package in the mail...they sent me a brand new version of the jacket, with all the changes as well as a vest.

Question...how long do you get to use the pack (with Teva, you have to ship the sandals back every month or two), will they comp you a pack after the program...they should at least give you a pro deal... and will you be able to update us on your progress (some outfits make you sign confidentially agreements) It would be fun to hear about your exploits with the new pack.”

“Congrats! I did some testing for them when they were first starting out. Good people to deal with. Say "hey" to Debbie for me. I got their original version of the Taurus tent (the Vawning), which only came with one vestibule. I added a velcro-in second vestibule to turn it into a six-pound four season tent (which is how the Taurus got two vestibules). Got a 4500 ci pack, a fanny pack that converts to a day pack, another fanny pack with some changes I'd suggested. That was probably 7 or 8 years ago, and I still use all their stuff on a regular basis.The 4500 ci and the convertible saw me through two summers of ridge-running and took a lot of abuse, and still do.”

“i was accepted as a gear tester for a company a couple of years ago. one of the stipulations is to not talk about that specific gear with anyone, or let others see it. i started doing a lot more solo hiking, then. i guess alps is different.”
