Gregory Pack “I was having a little problem with my pack... It seemed like the belt was not doing all it was suppose to or claimed it was suppose to. After pouring over the owners manual I resized my torso.. that was alright then I read part where it talked about belt sizes.. well low and be hold I measured my waist and found out I was 4" OVER the size of the belt.. What was I to do... I called REI where I bought the pack and they said they would help me if I paid them $35..grrrr. So I called Gregory Customer Service and explained the situation to them and they GLADLY are exchanging me belts... They gave me a RA # and I sent them off priority mail. Once they get the old ones they will ship me the new ones free of charge. Thought I would share this and hoping to save my fellow TT/BPers a little dough... Sparky” 3:45:20 PM 3/19/02 Moral of the story “1) make sure you are fitted correctly. This includes the waist, torso and shoulder harness 2) Sometimes going to the mfgr will save you a couple of bucks” 3:47:09 PM 3/19/02 “Gregory Pack was fantastic in "To Kill a Mockingbird".” 3:52:54 PM 3/19/02 “Glad you got it taken care of. Nice to know Grogory has a good Customer Service Dept.” 4:44:06 PM 3/19/02 “Gregory has great customer service. I am surprised REI wanted to charge you. I bought a Reality last summer from EMS and shrunk out of the belt. I walked into EMS and they swapped it for a smaller belt, no charge, no questions asked. I also purchased a Whitney (for winter and long treks) recently and on the first hike, I poked a nasty hole right through the top compartment. Gregory did charge me but the price was reasonable and they did a super job with the repair.” 4:49:07 PM 3/19/02 “Question: Did the salespeople at REI help fit you with the pack? If so, they screwed up and should have had no problem getting you a belt that did fit. They always advertise their great return policy, too. What's up with that?” 4:50:17 PM 3/19/02 “My experience with Gregory customer service was not so pleasant. I got the wrong belt the first time. The second one did not arive on Friday inspite of the fact that I was assured it would and paid extra for overnight shipping. Then I did not get a credit for the items returned. I called about that and got $50 of the $55 they owed me. Classic case of G.A.F. employees.” 5:41:52 PM 3/19/02 “I emailed them about a problem (several of the zipper pulls came off) and was referred to my local outfitter which did me no good as I bought the pack mail order. Now I know to call them. Thanks.” 5:51:14 PM 3/19/02 “I fitted myself of sorts, they asked for the information using the live help that REI provides and they fitted tme that way. I did not know about the waist belt until I read the owners manual the other day and I was like grrrrrrrr... Talked with REI and they said that there was nothing that they could do about it except sell me another belt for $35 or I could call gregory. I am not happy with REI right now and I hope I don't run into the problem bacpac had since NEXT weekend I am suppose to be hiking the three ridges. UG! Sparky” 6:51:40 PM 3/19/02 “My Gregory pack was 3-4 years old and the top pocket was ripping at the seams (from the way I carry my sling lite chair). I took the pack to A-16 where I bought it (without a receipt) and they fixed it for free.” 12:44:10 AM 3/20/02 “gRRRRRR... DAMN R.E.I. I have an email address with Gregory customer service and once it arrives or I know it arrived they are going to send it out. Does REI stand for R.eturn E.very I.tem? Sparky” 5:46:11 PM 3/20/02 “First David Brinkley and now this too!” 1:51:40 PM 6/12/03
