I found a Marmot 30 degree down bag on sale at REI. I got it for $154.00, and it only weighs 2 pounds. This is the lightest sleeping bag I have ever owned.
I am wondering how to wash the thing. Do you throw it in the washing machine or take it to the cleaners?

Cleaners it is. Makes sense to me, maybe I could get a new bag in 5 years when it falls apart at the cleaners. LOL!!

I would recommend against the cleaners - take it to the laundrymat and use a big front loading washer (DON'T use a top loader) - be sure to use a soap that is specific to down products - regular soap strips protective oils off of the down. To dry DON'T hang it on a line - toss it into a dryer set on very low along with an old sneaker or two to fluff the down. DON'T dry clean it.
