I was trying to get a pack on Ebay tonight and some SOB beat me out of it with 2 mins left. It was an Alpine (2900ci) It would have been mine for $14 but I missed it.

Yeah, I lost some trekking poles at the last minute. I think that may be the strategy, save your bid until the last minute so no one can outbid you. (Of course if they have already entered a bid higher than you are willing to pay, you aren't going to win either way.)

By the way, I am thrilled about the Alpine...I've always wanted one of those, and I got it for under 20 bucks!

What were all those other morons thinking?

The last minute bidding is always the most fun. It has cost me some items and cost me some money.

Seams as though everything I want goes off at like 2AM. I sat up half the damn night to get a rare, out of print CD just to get buggered at the last second. !!!!!!

I'll bet some good deals were had on Sept 11 when everyone was distracted by the "events."

Look for items which close during the NCAA final game. maybe peeps will forget about the bidding.

I have just started looking a
e-bay to find items I might be interested in. How many of you use it for buying or selling. It seems the way to go is to bid at the last minute or second.

One of my clients (a Township Supervisor by day) and his son run a motorcycle parts business off of E-bay. Last year they sold $80,000 worth of stuff. They buy wrecked bikes from the local dealers, fix what they can and sell them. Apparently quite a lucrative business.

My sister and her husband make quite a bit of money on Ebay. They go to local auctions and buy "lots" of items and resell them on Ebay for twice, if not more, than they originally paid. They also just purchased a lot of childrens clothing at very cheap prices from Target and resold them on Ebay...they made over 500.00 on just that alone. Ebay is great! I like it and have bought several things on it. I have never been disappointed yet. I usually just bid my max first and sometimes, I win just because others don't want to keep going up on their bid. It all depends on the item. Have fun...it's addicting.

Yeah I likes it, landed a Lafuma pack for $20, a TNF Denali Jacket for $50 (in the gray even!), among other things. Right now it's bonsai books, hehe.
