If someone would be kind enough to create the link to get to my newly established photo gallery on webshots, I'd be most appreciative, then if you can tell me how to do it myself, I will be one of the enlightened...thanks.

Great pix! I love the falls. Good turnout. How long was the hike you guys did? As for your questions, I am one of the unenlightened.

Great shots Mon! It's hard to get a good picture in Stone Door but you did very good. Most pictures from there are too dark.
The name of the Waterfall is Ranger Falls if you want to change the caption.

Awesome pics! That group pic of you guys sitting in the sun turned out really well. But then, so did the others. Shhhhhh.....be real quiet, you don't want to scare away the strange woodland creatures!

Snow Nymph
Thanks for setting up the link. The real question is how can I do it??? I want to be ejudicated. teach me oh enlightend one.

I wish I had taken more shots on the trail...its was a great hike and very strenous on the last portion of it, Opie, BitPusher, Khatru and myself were nearly out of gas on the uphill, when Super Troll came bounding down the hill to fetch a pail of water, when ST fell down, he broke his...oh sorry, my mind just wanders sometimes...I begged him to PLEEEEEASE tell me that the end was just up around the bend...he just smiled and looked away and he said..."the end is just up around the bend". Khatru and I got to the top and collapsed.

To all that were there...thanks for a great trip. Come on...Lets do it again...do you feel....feel like I do??/?...

HTML
Stikmon, hopefully this works...
Replace "website URL with your site URL, keeping the " ". Then replace "Website title" with your site name. Antything typed there gets printed.

It's like this...[a href="insert URL here" target="_blank"] insert what you want the link to say here [/a]. Every [ should be replaced with a less than sign (on the comma key) and every ] should be replaced by a greater than sign (the key with the period on it). Any questions? There's an html cheat sheet one one thread. Just search the threads using html as a seach term.

Thanks skullcap. I know how to do it, I just couldn't get it to "not work" so the code could be seen!

Back to work...:(

That last bit was pretty strenuous, stikmon.

Now imagine that sort of uphill, only twice as long, with a corresponding downhill. Repeat 5-6 times, and that pretty well describes the 11 miles of the AT between Rocky Flatts cemetary and Gooch Gap. It damn near kilt me.

BRAIN OVERLOAD!!!!

Great pics by the way.

This is what you would type into the message body for this link:

Hopefully this worked. To display html tags here, replace the left side bracket (less than) with 4 symbols: the ampersand (spel?), the letter l (for less), the letter t (for than) and a semicolon. For the right side bracket (greater than), use the ampersand, letter g (for greater), the letter t (for than), followed by a semicolon.

Confused? You won't be after the next episode of....... ;o)

You're quite welcome. :-)

There is even a quicker way which I had forgotten. I just had a beer and it suddenly came to me! It is not always reliable but worth a try.

If you insert the html tag <xmp>, everything after that should be displayed, including the tags. Just don't forget to close it </xmp> or all hell will break loose.

So here goes a test:
<br /> <a href="http://thebackpacker.com">The Backpacker</a><br />
Pennsy Hiker

Hmmmmm..... sort of worked. I think the new line tags showed up because I hit the carriage return after the <xmp> and before the closing tag.

Test take 2:

Question
Does the target="_new" make it open in a new browser window?
Hikin Mike

Yes, and target="_blank"> will works as well.

That little stroll up to Alum Gap? Naw that's cake walk. It was only a 400 foot gain. That wasn't enough to get my lungs doing any extra work. From the bottom of the hill it took me 10 mins and I was in camp digging my tarp out of my pack.
Wanna go hit some REAL hills?

Nice photos. Come out and hike in Tennessee again sometime soon. I am leading a 3 day hike April 5-7 at Savage Gulf. Email me at Adelicia1@aol.com for details and for my hiking schedule. I'm leading 2-3 trips/month. Would love to have you and K. with us. This weekend, going to explore some of the south end of the Fiery Gizzard Trail.
