I guess the typical deal is using either a gas leafblower or chainsaw motor...” 6:47:24 PM 3/21/02 on my buffalo “canoe trip, we passed some old geezers with quite a rig...chairs, tables...built in cooler on the canoe...nice, but the best was the battery operated blender...now that's canoeing...I want to get my hands on one, make pina coladas on the river and play "dead" and buffet tunes and a lot of marley...jam out!!! that's the way uh huh uh huh, I like it...uh huh uh huh” 7:04:11 PM 3/21/02 “dude its gonna be a killer trip!! I might bring my weber grill...LOl and color tv satellite hook up. heck, we could run cable all the way with us. sorry, I need to go take my meds.” 6:54:24 PM 3/22/02 “The great thing about running cable into the wilderness like that is the farther you go, the lighter the spool gets. Kinda like food.” 11:16:46 PM 3/22/02 “im so excited about this trip. i got offered at work tonight to go to myrtle beach over mem. day weekend to help out a store down there. paid hotel and gas down there, but i don't know if it's gonna be ok to be out of town that much. #&%!$ myrtle beach is waht i say. it's cool and all but we're talkin a bunch of tourists and #&%!$. i know where my priorities lie.” 12:30:36 AM 3/23/02 outfitters “I'm gonna call a few outfitters tomorrow to get some ideas on what the best parts are. I need to know what ya'll are up for. fri nite thru sun afternoon or fri nite thru monday afternoon. The difference being 1 full day on the river (sat) and a partial (sun) or 2 full days (sat&sun) and partial (mon). It don;t make nonevermind to me. but it will to pick out a route and how long the trip is. Who's in so far...other than me.” 10:45:43 PM 3/23/02 “2 days and 1 partial. i am in. i havent' got to use my canoe to camp out of yet and i can't wait.” 2:57:56 AM 3/24/02 “im in dude! ill bring the breakfast!!!” 9:16:12 AM 3/24/02 “that makes 2 conoes allready that we have!” 9:16:39 AM 3/24/02 cool “Stikmon, Josh, Prowler. I was gonna bring my dog, but I think I;ll pass. If I can't purchase a canoe, can I drift with one of you guys. Here is a phone number to call and get a travel guide for the 11 points. Mark Twain National Forest Winona Office Rt 1 Box 1908 Winona, Mo 65588 phone; 573-325-4233” 2:44:28 PM 3/24/02 timing and distance “I figure that we can cover @ 16 miles a day with 2 people paddling in each canoe. in 2 1/2 days we can cover @ 36 miles. which is perfect as there is a pull out at 35.6 miles. Although there is a place called "The Narrows" that sounds REALLY cool, but it is at 44.3 miles, which might put us over the 1/2 day mark. Have any of you done this river before? and do you have photo's that you could like to so as to intrigue any interested parties.” 2:50:40 PM 3/24/02 “I wish I did, but if I did I may not have been returning! Do you have an email address for the Twain National Forest that I could order a map? I could find it myself but Im a little lazy!he” 6:14:33 PM 3/24/02 no email “the booklet that the NFS has out is older than email...LOL. Just use the telephone...LOL, they will be glad to send you one. For any that are interested in in joining in, but do not have canoes. Here is an outfitter that I liked. Ask for Kenny, he is the owner 11 Points Canoe Rental. 417-778-6497 Rates are as follows... 2 day rental $32.00/per canoe/day 3 day rental $27.00/per canoe/day For those only intersted in shuttling (those with their own canoe) $15.00 per vehicle. There ya go...so much information...so few really interested...Hey here's my thought for hte night...I am going to cook a #&%!$ load of great food to eat on this trip and we'll be partying all night. So...for those few that are coming...YOU BETTER HAVE A FRIGGIN HUGE APPETITE!!! I won;'t be cutting back on the quatities and I don't do leftovers.” 10:23:16 PM 3/24/02 “there's no cutting back the weight on this trip. we can bring chairs, and grills, and coolers, whatever else we want. be creative here. my canoe can hold over 1000 lbs.” 11:28:11 PM 3/24/02 bring a party tent “I've been looking at a multi-room family tent, this way we can escape the skeeters and hang in a large space with chairs and such...sounds like we're gonna have a party...be there or be square.” 11:34:31 PM 3/24/02 “Possible. I've been sloshing around the idea of a float/canoe trip for some time now. Only time will tell. Maybeeeee” 11:39:54 PM 3/24/02 steve “come aboard matey. It'll be great to finally meet you...you're a bit of a legend.” 11:44:23 PM 3/24/02 boing “back to the top. Mozark is interested...who else? Oh yeah, there is great trout fishing on the lower part of the river...maybe bring the fly gear and pretend I know what I'm doing.” 4:55:57 PM 3/25/02 “not sure I can make it on the Monday leg of this journey, but I will look at the calendar. I will also look at the map and determine if it is possible to make part of this trip on Fri Night/Sat/ Sun morn.” 5:10:27 PM 3/25/02 chili36 “tried to reach you for this past weekend to day hike on the OT...it was great!!! did a 7 1'2 miler...3 hours...great day.” 5:23:52 PM 3/25/02 “I was a slave to my yard on Saturday. Probably this sunday, its easter and all the non-jewish people will be looking for easter eggs...I will be looking for solitude.” 5:29:59 PM 3/25/02 “I'm probably up for this one. Is the eleven point supposed to be anywhere as scenic as the Buffalo?” 5:46:21 PM 3/25/02 should be scenic “but I haven't seen any photo's. We'll just have to go there and see for ourselves and post the photo's. I have a close friend that will be flying from Philly to go on this trip. It should be a blast. Jgieils...you still interestred in Colorado?” 5:50:40 PM 3/25/02 “i think my parents have one of those screen house thingabobs or whatever you call it. i'll have to check on that. it would be nice to have with us if i can get it. it's pretty big i think.” 11:52:26 PM 3/25/02 “i've never had to worry about keeping beer cold for 3 days before but i guess we just put it in the river right? this is gonna be so much fun” 11:53:37 PM 3/25/02 no problem with keeping the beer cold “Pack the coolers with ice and water and it will stay plenty cold...If anyone gets out of control though,,,they will be cut up into little peices and fed to the fishies. Alcholol and boating don't mix. Drink on shore, not on the water. Yes it will be a blast!!! I'm stoked. Ready to rock n' roll. Who am I paddling with...I have yet to find someone selling a canoe. The trouble with Tribbles...” 5:32:40 PM 3/26/02 boing “back up top.” 11:35:13 AM 3/27/02 stinkmon “stikmon, I may have a spot for you in my conoe if my buddy dont go! only under one condition!!!!!! 1)do you know how to paddle! LOL well two we only tip if we agree to tip!” 4:36:48 PM 3/27/02 prowler “sounds good to me. I am still going to hunt me a canoe.
