Ten bucks says the bed is on the floor..or is just a pallet of blankets...prowler...am i right?” 9:17:31 PM 3/20/02 “What's the beef? It looks lived in! From the dishes it looks like he has been eating. The bathroom shows that he is still functioning. The clothes are laid out so that he can find things. Anyone with a clean computer/radio area has too much time on their hands. And does n't everyone have a junk or two in the yard and a BBQ grill that has not been used for a while? And with those trees it looks like a great area. Is it for sale?” 9:39:29 PM 3/20/02 gosh, flashback city “my son used to go visit his dad over spring breaks when he was younger...one year I drove him down south the 120 or so miles and we walked into the apartment which looked very similar to these photos with the exception that instead of soap bars, there were empty soap wrappers overflowing the wastecan and countertop and about 30 empty shampoo bottles in the shower stall that was much more mildewed....the fridge was packed with beer, but not an ounce of milk or food....hmm .....I turned around and drove my disappointed kid all the way back home .. yikes....health hazzard....” 10:38:44 PM 3/20/02 “Opie, yup your right they sleep on a old couch that is covered w/ a blanket because the springs wore through the cushions! the fridge is loaded with beer and nothing else. 3 people live in this house! Pork, Cheese, Rusty” 5:44:50 AM 3/21/02 “Home sweet home.” 6:51:49 AM 3/21/02 “Beats the heck outta sleeping on the ground/streets, it`s some protection from the elements. I bet there`s a lots of folks living in cardboard boxes and shanty towns in third world countries that`d think that was the ritzs,.. More than that, I bet it`s paid for too! Live in your glass houses, but don`t go throwin` rocks unless you want `em chucked back at you! I bet soon as they can do better they will. They`ll prolly move up to a double-wide.” 7:19:41 AM 3/21/02 “IT WAS A DOUBLE WIDE!!!....2 mismatched trailers side by side!! Rusty pork cheese...sounds like dinner!! Big Foot...what's taking 20 minutes to bag some garbage, and throw it in a dumpster at the piggly wiggly on the way through town?” 7:51:24 AM 3/21/02 “True Opie, they could take a bit and clean it up some, or rotate the dirt a little! When we moved to Arkansas from Colorado I was shocked at how some people lived. Out houses, no running water in some homes, no electricity in a few and some with dirt floors! There was this one old man and woman that lived close to us and they couldn`t have been nicer, we took to each other right off. They had dirt floors in their house and her floors looked like they were outta the richest and finest hard woods you ever saw. You could see your reflection in those floors, it mustta took a lot of work and years to get `em to look like that. Their house was neat as a pin, but I never could get past those dirt floors and try as they might, I never would eat with them. I feel bad about it now, but I was just a kid and I let that get to me, but it didn`t keep them from liking me, or me from caring for them. She may have had dirt floors, but she kept house better than anyone I have ever known. They were a proud set of folks and now I don`t mind telling you, I`m proud to have known them. I only wish I had understood them better then.” 8:12:08 AM 3/21/02 “the first house i can remember visiting my grandparents in was a small 3 room house (living room, kitchen, bedroom) The pigs, and dogs slept under the house...and at night you could see light shining between every board. man it was fun playing on the alabama red clay banks around there” 8:20:57 AM 3/21/02 “My grandmother grew up in a house like that, except that as the family grew, they added onto the house, so that you had to walk through each bedroom to get to the next (no hallway). Because of the gaps between the floor boards, you had no choice but to be one with the bugs.” 8:25:27 AM 3/21/02 “That is just plain crud! 8|” 5:34:36 PM 3/21/02
