Mich Mountaineers Mem Wknd Hike

“Do to popular demand (actually no demand) Sass and I want to round up a bunch of folks for a 3-4 day trip to Hoist lks over Memorial Day. Friday midday to monday midday. Hoist lks is in the NE part of the Lower Penninsula. All are welcome,route and timing to be decided at a later date. So who's in?”

“I would love to but my club is going backpacking for 3 nights on North Manitou Island.

“I work Monday or the little guy and I might try to make it. Maybe another time.”

“Hmmm....I'm supposed to be taking it real easy that weekend. It's the weekend before the 3day walk. Chasing Abby around camp might constitute "real easy" lol. That'd be a six hour drive for us though. Prowler you've got Birch wanting to go pretty bad.”

“Hoist Lakes should have a big ol' fuse sticking out of it cause it's da bomb! I'd love to go but I avoid travel and the woods on big 3 day weekends.

When da hell ya'll gonna get a paddling weekend going?”

“Once it gets warm enough to swim Nige. Promise.”

“Canoe or white water? Canoe is a blast, and white water has been on my to-do list for a few years.

I think I'm going to stick around home that weekend. Every single weekend after the walk is busy, and I think I'll enjoy some time just sitting around.”

“No, but I didn't know if you were talking about a road trip to the south!”

And, it will depend on the number of miles, cause we are supposed to take it pretty easy that weekend before the big 60mile thing. So, I don't want to over-do it.

We'll chat about it tomorrow night, k? That way you'll have a chance to work on Max as well.”

“no no sass, you two wanna come down w/ the family and spend time in the beautuiful Smoky Mountains!

“I was going to but I may have to go to W. Virginia to do some work , so I may be hiking ovetr there. But dont know yet.




Its all about relaxing thow!! I dont plan to over exert myself eiter. Its about sitting around and eating some burgers on the grill, steaks, maybee a few drinks, tell stories! it will be one hell of a relaxing weekend!

“we are staying at Elkmont campground all weekend and doing Maybee some tubing and we are suppose to hike all five approach trails to Mnt. Leconte but we may just do one or two then relax the rest of the time.”
