Anyone know how to stop this?
I frequently switch between windows (i.e. read something on one while another is loading). Quite often, the window in the background comes to the front when the page either begins to load or finishes loading (but before I click onto it).

Also, some pages automatically take my cursor to a login prompt--I'm thinking specifically of My Yahoo on this one.

Anyone know how to stop these things?

How often do you reboot? Windows has a habit of "leaking memory" so after you open and close a number of applications it loses enough memory so it can't adequately open another documenet or program. Either reboot more often or buy more memory.

hiking mood, those actions are caused by specific instructions on the web pages you are viewing. One of the most annoying things about Windows to an old Unix hack like myself is its insistence that the active window be on top. Grrrrr....

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way to stop it.

If I was a programmer...
I'd write something to stop it. That is almost as annoying as pop-up windows.
